Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eir F3000 bridge mode Unifi Dream Machine

    Hi Folks,

Complete novice to the IT world and quite naively bought a Unifi dream machine to hook up to an Eir F3000.:o

    https://eu.store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-routing-switching/products/unifi-dream-machine

In my defence I did check out the F3000 first to see if it supported bridge mode.

However when I do switch on bridge mode within the F3000 it shuts down the internet. In the admin console
the internet connectivity status is “disconnected” and the internet light on the front of the router goes out.

The only way to restore internet is to factory reset the F3000 which switches bridge mode off again.

I’m beginning to suspect that this may be an Eir F3000 firmware issue?.
Can I configure the Eir F3000 to work with the UDM?, do I need to replace the F3000 with something else?. Does anybody want to buy an unused UDM :)

Can anybody help me with this. It would be very much appreciated.

If you're using a FTTH connection then you can plug the ONT directly into the WAN port on the dream machine using an ethernet cable.

Configure your WAN port by expanding IPV4 and selecting PPPoE and filling out the username and password.

    username:eir@eir.net
    password:broadband1

    (Pulled these from another thread)
    _____________

    Then under COMMON SETTINGS
    Tick Use VLAN ID and
    Type 10 in the box

    Click Save

    *Edit*
If you are using FTTC, (DSL) you will still need to input the details above into your UDM Wan configuration as the F3000 is only establishing the connection, the router passes the VLAN and Username and password. That's why your existing configuration isn't working.
