Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My learner permit expired in 2017 does this mean I need to redo the theory test? Also do the required 12 lesson expire?

No you have 5 years, do not let it run out of you do then you start over and would have to do the mandatory lessons.

Get going, the wife done exactly that and has spent the last 12 months trying to get a theory test which has been cancelled 3 times now.

I'm constantly having to drive everywhere and picking her up and dropping to work a lot.

I'm doing double runs so putting up over 300km a day on car when I do this.

Learner permit, if you go over 5 years you start again, new permit, must do 12 lessons even if you done them before.

Yes but you will have to book a test if you haven't done previously.

Go onto ndls you should be able to do all online, if you have mygov.ie

Ok I get you, so I will have to re apply for a first time Learner permit? but the lessons will still be valid then?

No it won't be your 1st as you have had that already, go onto ndls, put in all your details, set up mygov account and go from there.

What I am saying is if you let it lapse 5 years or more, date on actual permit, then you must start like you never had one before.

Ok so when I go to renew why does it say "You can apply to renew your driving licence within three months of its expiry date"?

Ok I looked up there, unfortunately you will have to attend the centre when opened.

As it is over 3 months a renewal must be done in person so can't be online.

If you have public service card it's a help.
Proof of address, PPS and your old permit and proof of I.D in date.
