As we all know the science on Climate Change is settled and we are experiencing incredible rise in temperatures. Just like RTE told us in 2005, Ireland is basking in scorching hot summers and warm winters. Yet, we are still conditioned into our old ways of thinking.

As an inspiration to others I have refused to buy winter clothing for my kids, or use any heating in the house this winter. It sends out the wrong message that I am climate denialist to others.

Wait until climate change cools the gulf stream; you'll need a winter coat then.

Wetter and windier winters might also prompt the purchase of an decent coat.

We are entering a period if reduced solar activity similar to the Dalton minimum of the 1820s, so we can expect cooler weather conditions for the next couple of decades.
After that, the warming trend will continue with a vengeance, unless humans have decided to stop burning so much of the planet's resources.

Do we not have enough climate change threads? Boards.ie officially think it's all a greenwashing communist socialist hoax, and that everything is ok, let's just leave it at that.

They can if they manage to find someone gullible enough to mate with.

I wear a Patagonia which is sustainable, made with love and they're very much for the planet.

They're not expensive either and look way better than any Tommy Hilfiger or Polo Ralph Lauren shoite you'd see in high street stores.

Thankfully they're not for commoners like those dreaded North Face jackets yeuchhh

Got some technical garb myself. 100% waterproof; taped up to the seams yet appears like real wool. Here’s the drop though the mugs sent me the wrong version which I ‘agreed’ to return in due course and so now I have a fancy waxed variant too.

True greens will only wear a hairshirt whatever the season and writhe around on the ground flagellating themselves for not doing enough, only taking momentary pauses to deride others who don't follow suit.

You're right. In 7.59 billion years the Sun will become a red giant. and you won't need the winter coat for a while.

A cooler period which will require use of carbon fuels to keep warm in. Any government increasing carbon taxes, making keeping warm more expensive to counteract global warming during a period of decreasing temperatures is in for a rough ride.
