Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is sarcasm against the rules now?

I’ve been banned for using sarcasm on the politics forum.

A poster used a link to a blog on reddit and I simply called reddit “the font of all knowledge”

How is this against the rules?

I asked the mod if he was serious and he confirmed he was.

    Hi Aegir,

I'll look into this for you.

Can you please forward me all correspondance between yourself and the banning moderator where you attempted to resolve the dispute between the two of you?

    Thanks.

I have forwarded these on, including my very poor final reply, which I admit was uncalled for.

The ban is up, but i would like this cleared from my record.

    Hi Aegir,

Thanks for forwarding those PMs on. The first step in a DRP is "If you have an issue with a ban or infraction, the first thing you should always do is PM the Mod(s) of the forum and ask for clarification on what’s gone wrong."'

I'm not sure that your PM did that in the first instance. My suggestion is that you go back to the banning mod and actually discuss this ban with them in the first instance, specifically attempting to resolve the issue. If they uphold the ban, then please let me know and I'll continue to look into it.

I know exactly what has gone wrong. I was banned for 24 hours for using sarcasm, even though sarcasm isn’t against the rules.

I was hoping to get the ban overturned but I can’t be bothered. The mod in question has shown his bias numerous times and there is no point trying to establish any kind of rapport so I’ll just keep clear of the politics forum and leave it be the pointless echo chamber it has become.

    Apologies for wasting your time.

A the OP doesn't wish to take this further, I'm marking it as resolved.
