Hi guys, I'm wondering if there's any decent GBB MP5's out there? I've seen the GBB M4, but need an MP5 for SAS role stuff.

Anyone know of any? I've come across the Young something Blowback, but that's got an external reservoir afaik, and want something more realistic....

Any info would be really great! Thanks guys!

Theres an escort one... but old and rare now....

No main manufacturer atm doing a gbb mp5. but watch this space imo.

there are some electrically blow back mp5s by cyma... quite good, and the gbb mp5k, but no gbb mp5 bigun.

Both of those are MP5K's, FK mentioned those originally.

The only full size GBB MP5's I've seen are externally powered, either directly to a small tank or to a backpack rig. There seems to be a drive on lately for GBB rifles so you might be in luck soon. There's already the obligatory M4/16 and AK, and the SCAR arrived the other day too so I'd hazard a guess that the two next most wanted would be G36's and MP5's.

I have the Well gbb mp5k, trying to source a stock at the moment.
Real nice gbb with a he'll of a rate of fire! It's a fun gun to use.
Quite accurate too, cheap as chips for what it is, but so are all the new gbb guns!

Its odd that they never made a full size mp5 having made the mp5k, has anyone ever succeeded in a conversion?

I put a crane stock on an Galaxy MP5K sometime back
it should be easy to do it to a GBB MP5K

Guy I know did a Escort convert to an MP5K, stuck a UMP stock on it. Looked the nuts.

You could try and convert an Maruzen mp5k like this guy; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gh4mM35VbA

WE have mentioned that they plan to release an SD variant of the MP5 down the line.

Hopefully someone will redo that AUG GBBR that was in winter camo stock but was way over our limit.

Seeing as WE managed to do the SCAR, a G36 should be easy to do seeing as its more or less the same action in airsoft GBB terms.

The interesting thing will be how to do a durable polymer gas mag with a good seal. I don't know if it was done on the older GBB AUG.

Just noticed The Original Poster did not mention what variant of the MP5 he/she
wanted. Maybe they would be happy with the MP5K.

But just to add a bit more on the subject...

Frank the Manc driled a hole in the backplate of his Maruzen:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=60172071&postcount=429

I had planned on doing something similar, and even sinfully sticking the stock converstion
kit onto my Mac but.....never got around to doing either.

On the Maruzen it has a metal backplate with a housing where a metal recoil rod
pushes against it, so that would need modification if sticking a new stock onto it.

Also even though its a GBB and fun, the actual slide movement back and forth
is not that impressive as GBB's go. If you look at the 1st photo down on the below Pics
you will see the slide only goes back around half way, and not fully back showing a
completely open ejection port. If its gonna be a GBB I want the slide to at least
    cycle fully.

Ah, scusi, I was looking for a standard MP5 with fixed or retractable stock. Seen the k done with a folding stock, but didn't like it much, also, I like the front end of the full size more than the k.

i always found it strange there was a gbb mp5k but no one made the leap to make the normal mp5

Although the bolt is plastic and there isnt as much movement in the clycling of same the recoil with the stock added is fantastic, granted its not as heavy as a GBB M4 but the cyclical rate of fire is superb, better than a M11.

The conversion wouldnt be too hard to do alright, youd need the body of a full stock/ retractable MP5 and a donor MP5k but with the Well ones as cheap as they are there would be no reason not to.

If youre looking to put a metal upper on it there is a good deal of dremmelling involved but its like everything if you have the tools, the materials, the time and patientce you can do anything.

This is diverging from the original discussion, however, many of the older gas guns (TK USP & some JAC models for example) used a small metal tank or tubing with brass connectors inside of a plastic polymer shell for their magazines, rather than consisting of an entirely plastic construction.
