Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did anyone else just hear this half an hour ago? It was audible on Watercourse Road and surrounding areas. It sounded like an air raid siren and went on for at least 20 minutes. I presumed the Luftwaffe or modern equivalent were on the way.

Fire station? Out in our rural town you’d often hear that air raid siren coming from the station

Yeah the location makes sense. It was very startling and going on for ages late on a school night! Scared the bejeebus out of my niece. Why would they be doing that? I've never heard it before.

I’m in on the north mall and could hear it. Thought it was never going to end!

Yeah not sure to be honest, perhaps signalling local volunteer fire fighters but I had the same reaction as your niece when I first heard it :pac:

This is becoming something of an FAQ in this forum :) It comes from the Heineken brewery and is related to some industrial process that goes on in there.

Was wondering myself (in Shandon) last night, mainly how long it was going to keep going for!

I had the same question around this time last year too. I've moved from Shandon, up more Sunday's Well direction and nothing woke me last night.

It went on like this for a good chunk of time last year - https://streamable.com/u0iey.

A couple of posters suggested it was Heineken letting off steam. Not sure how seriously they were to be taken...!!

Any quarries nearby. Our local quarry lets out a siren (sounds like an air raid siren)when blasting.

Only hear it when at home at the right time and the wind is blowing in the right direction. Took me years to finally hear it.

I must have been asleep early last night.
Didn't hear a peep on Dominick Street
