Seriously considering getting the pace. Does anyone know the difference between the English version and the international version.
Bit of a difference in price
    Cheers

No. I have the Global version which I got on a flash deal from Aliexpress G shopper store for £67. It shipped from Spain by DHL. They also have an Amazon store which was more expensive.

I really like it. I was going to get the Stratos but a revue compared the two. The displays are the same size but the Stratos is bigger & some say not as comfortable to wear especially overnight.

I find the Pace even more comfortable than my MiBand.

    Useful website here:

This is available on the much loved Gearbest for just over 44 euro delivered
Collect the €10.57 coupon on the site page and it should automatically reduce the price at the checkout.Think it applies to all colours.

Obviously getting hit for customs is a possibility

Got one myself a couple of month ago and love it so with this offer I got it for himself for that event at the end of December. €44 is a bargain!

I am thinking of getting the Amazefit Verge. That is Amazefit 3.

Does anyone know when the global version will be available or if it's necessary to get the global version? Will the Chinese version work? (once I change language)

70 seems to be in and around the going rate, the 42 euro offer was a seriously great deal at the time, I'm waiting to see them come up on offer somewhere

They all went back up in price. I chose the Pace because the Bip had gone up & the Pace offer seemed good comparative value. There was a good deal on the Stratos but that has ended.

Any of these do sleep monitoring as well?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,083 ✭✭✭rustledjimmies

Yes, Bip has a heart rate monitor and tracks sleep (either with or without HR monitoring on). Mine is on for sleep tracking so doesn't hit the battery hardly at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭RossieMan

The bip does sleep monitoring. It's ****e though I find. Good at getting when I go to sleep and wake up, but wouldn't bother with the deep and light sleep data.

amazfit bip 2 coming soon (within a month/two)

granted it will be nearer to 100 dollars at launch.

will have NFC though, better waterproofing and some other as yet not fully released upgrades. hopefully a better HR monitor - likely.

    https://gadgetsandwearables.com/2019/01/06/amazfit-bip-2/
A few interesting titbits were uncovered in the code. The wearable will come with a Sony GPS chip, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, compass and NFC. There is also mention of a “Sport” mode.

Amazfit Bip 2 will also have internal memory like the Pace and Stratos models. It is not clear yet whether this will be available for offline music storage or just auxiliary functions such as storage of watch faces.

sony gps chip may mean better gps accuracy and latency also.

will pick the version 2 up if it gets good reviews.

Not what he means I think. There is an amazfit app. Works great for Strava.

Modify and fitness for amazfit is what I use.

So what key features does this have and not have versus the samsung gear s3 for example?

the bip is a lot more basic than the gear watches like the s3 and the newer galaxy watch.

    no android wear apps.

but because it's basic the battery lasts a lot longer.

has gps, heart-rate, sleep and step-tracking. notifications.

gps is also not that accurate.

  • Registered Users Posts: 46 bazelbrush

Used this today for the first time on a 5k run and found it perfect for what I'm looking for , basic but everything works perfectly and has more than enough features for my needs.

Definitely up there with one of the better purchases from BA.

    Notifications: SMS, whatsapp
    Constant Heart Rate monitor
    Sleep monitor
    Alarm, timer, stopwatch
    Compass
    Activity tracker
    Good android app

    Minus:
GPS can be slow to startup.

Has the Amazfit Bip2 been released yet or a release date set?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,145 ✭✭✭paddy19

GPS seems to be the real killer.

Keeping GPS off except when needed for 2 runs a week and set constant heart rate frequency to 10 minutes gives me about 35 days.
