Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I often dream of places iv never been and situations that i couldnt possibly know in advance , and a few months later im usually working in this distinctive place and in the situation i read about its very strange and i get the sudden realisation that its the exact same as my dream.

Once i was in a long distance relationship and i woke up in a sheen of sweat after a dream where the gf cheated on me , next time she was home she admited to it and it happened roughly the same time i had the dream .totally out of the blue type thing.

the night my son died (november) I was outside the hospital, and i looked up at the sky and said 'if it snows on xmas day, then I'll know hes ok'.....xmas morning my brother and cousin who were staying with me woke me up, to see the snow falling, first time in twenty yrs it had snowed on a xmas day. I was torn between being happy and being heartbroken :(
Also, when i had him laid out at home, a ladybird appeared in the hall, stayed there for three weeks ( was his favourite insect)
A bush we had out the back for yrs (4) suddenly bloomed lovely yellow flowers
and a robin came to live in our backgarden, it used to take baths in the paddling pool in the summer, and woke me every morning with its lovely singing

I would think that this was his way to let you know he's still around and ok :)

Was in the main train station in Dortmund in 2010. Was standing leaning against the window of an internet cafe reading a city map while my girlfriend was in the toilet. I turned around and saw that there were 5 computers with 5 people at them sitting with their backs to me. The guy second from the left was watching hardcore porn and had his cock out. The computer users beside him were ignoring him. I couldnt believe it. And found it quite surreal

During lunch break in secondary school a few friends and I were standing outside by the basketball courts. Nobody was on the basket ball courts or near them, the yard was pretty much empty. Anyway we were talking away about something to do with God being real or some bull**** like that, it wasn't a very serious discussion.

Another friend was kicking a ball against the wall beside us, when whatever happened he or one of our friends kicked it off a good distance about 3 basket ball courts away. None of us could be arsed to get the ball so someone shouted "IF GOD IS REAL HE WILL GET THAT BALL BACK FOR US!"

Then out of the school building this little first year comes running. He runs down to the ball, picks it up and brings it over to us and hands it over. We didn't even know him and he had no reason to do that for us. Usually nobody would do that anyway.
We just looked at each other and laughed. It wasn't overly freaky but still interesting.

Going into a shop and buying stuff and the cashier says something like '€4.72 please'. You take a fistful of change out of the pocket and count the coins and it totals the exact amount!

I was in the house on my own at night, went into the kitchen to get something from the fridge and then back into the sitting room.

5 minutes later I hear the kettle whistling, was pretty freaked out so grapped only weaponlike thing I could find (a spoon) and went to investigate. Found nothing.

Next morning I found the hall lamp shade lying on the floor. I've no idea how any of it happened

A keyboard my dad gave my daughter before he died worked years after he died without any batteries or plug!
sorry to burst your bubble but is it not wired??

Ok. The keyboard IS wierd!! And here's my one!
    I am the person who dosnt eat fruit and who really really dislikes oranges and never has them in the house( another story). This day I randomly decided ti be healthy and took the dart to bray for a walk. En route at my end I decided to buy some fruit for the trip and randomly selected a plum and an orange in the shop. Packed them into rugsack and three hours later on the dart on the way home a random stranger sat down opposite me and said;
I'm sorry but I'm dying of thirst: is there any chance you'd have some fruit I could have: an orange or a plum.
I couldn't believe it. I unzipped the bag and handed them over . Freaky.

Not as good/interesting as any of the others but in July I was walking along South Williams street by the windows of Brown Thomas. It had been heavily raining earlier on that day and I suddenly got a voice in my head saying stop and I did but as if I didn't have control over it and suddenly one of the the shop window canopies broke and a **** load of water fell down to where I would've been If I didn't stop a second earlier. Loads of people stopped and glared at me amazed by my luck and I truly had the best MLIA moment.

By brother moved into an old house in the Monaghan countryside years ago. The original part of the house dates from the early 1800's, and it has been extended and renovated since. The master bedroom is within the original ~200 year old part of the house.

In 2004 (when I was 15) he won a competition to get his mortgage paid for a year and he took the opportunity to go, with his wife, on a two week trip to New York where his best friend now lived.

While he was there, he asked me to house sit for him (feed and water his chickens, goats and calves) and he organized a neighbor to drop me in and out from school every day. Happy days.

Everything was going to plan. Myself and the animals were still getting on anyway, no problems. Mam and dad called up every now and again to check on me. Grand.

I was sleeping in the master bedroom, as arranged. On the 5th or 6th night I woke up suddenly in a cold sweat. I woke up really suddenly, convinced there was an old person lying in the bed behind my back. Well I never sh!t the togs quite like I did that moment. I was as rigid as a board and couldn't move for fear of triggering some sort of response from the person I thought was behind me.

As soon as it was bright enough I jumped from the bed and ran from the room. I went to school as per normal but went home after it. I made Da go up every morning and feed the animals 'cause I refused to stay in that house since.

The freaky thing is, I think I'm now being followed by it. I'm at college the past 3 years and have had a room to myself mostly. I've woke up several times now to see what looks like to me as an old woman sitting at the foot of my bed, humming and combing her hair. Queue hysterics.

I was crashing on an ex's sofa in Carlow and I woke up to see a shape standing over the bottom of the sofa, seemingly observing me. This happened two nights in a row. In the dim midnight light you can make out the outline of the door and on both occasions, the shape intersected it.

Several times when I've been alone in a house I've heard someone rattling around the gaff humming.

The weirdest thing happened a few nights ago. I was in Dublin and I woke up and could see the figure at the bottom of my bed. I shat myself again. Go tobann, my housemate next door is screaming in his sleep. His GF wakes him up and I run in, and he tells me he was dreaming about some old person clawing at him in his sleep :(

When my granny died my Aunty, her daughter, was distraught- didn't go the funeral... in the cemetary afterwards my dad was looking to buy a plot big enough for the grandfather etc and after much haggling was directed to a spot down the back of the cenetary.
what was even weirder was the plot was on the end of a line of unmarked (no headstones) graves...think its to do with waiting for the ground to settle or something:confused:
anyways the next day feeling guilty my aunt went to Palm reader/fortune teller { feckin Shills in my opinion ), my aunt said she was sorry she didn't attend the funeral and hadn't gone to the grave and wanted to "speak" with me granny

... palmist or whatever said that me granny couldn't stop to talk as she was having "too much fun with all the kids" but understood my aunties grief and was ok with it.

Fast forward couple of months later..my aunts first visit to the completed Grave if you like, ...me granny is the only adult in a long line of child graves....

Few freaky days ago on Sept 11th,
plane home hit by lightning (not earthed so no big deal but puked my guts up when I seen it),
    diverted to another airport,
    lost my passport,
stuck on plane as no staff to deal with extra diverted flights
car stuck in other airport and hotels all full
late to pick up my dog from the kennels
ran out of Volvic and meanies (and very hungover)

A hotel that I worked in as a student used to run pools before big sporting events amongst staff. The girls rarely played because we decided it was just an easy way for the guys to use their superior knowledge of sport to win our money from us.

I don't know why but on this particular occasion I decided to join in and put a fiver into the pot to guess the score of the upcoming Leinster final, where whoever reached the closest score won. No-one was more surprised than me when it turned out that I had predicted the exact score for the whole match -from both sides, right down to goals and points!!The boys could hardly believe it either because apparently it had never been done before.

But here's the even freakier part that creeps me out even now. The entire score that I somehow managed to predict, when the numbers of each score were subtracted from each other, for example 2-15 (15-2=13) to 2-10 (10-2=8) the two answers gave two parts of my date of birth, the 13th of the 8th!!!!!!!!!:confused::confused::confused:

I have dreams that actually happen. The first few times it freaked me out to be able to tell someone what they are about to say because i had dreamt it, now i just curse the fact that it is never the lotto numbers!

A long story to explain how its not just deja vu so bear with me.

When i was younger i did an apprenticeship in printing. I have two friends called joe and sean, joe is a scaffolder and sean worked in a phone shop. Sean lived around the corner from me (south Dublin) and joe lived in navan. I had a dream that the three of us were on a train in work gear, i was eating a sausage roll and said to the lads sitting either side of me "half 8 my balls". Now there were no trains to navan at the time (early 2001) we had three different trades and i dont eat sausage rolls.

Fast forward to about three months later, joe was doing a big rush job got caught short and asked us to help him, of course we obliged and we were supposed to have gotten out there for half 8 but were running late, the shop at the train station had no food delivered in yet except for sausage rolls so i unhappily got some and we got on the train!

Second one is far more recent, i was watching a film and i had a weird feeling still to this day cant describe it. I realised my cat had been running around like a lunatic but had stopped suddenly. I turned around and she was sat as still as a statue staring at the wall where the heating control panel is. Dont ask me why but i went over and she didnt even look at me just kept staring at it.

I got a faint but acidic smell so i decided to turn off the power to the panel and take a look. I opened the panel and there was a slight singe at one of the wires so to be safe i disconnected everything and kept the power to it off. The next day an eletrician came out and wanted to check it so asked could he rewire it and knock it on. I told him to go ahead, no sooner had he wired it back up and turned the power on was there a bang and sparks. A minute later there was a fire inside the actual panel. He said in 30 odd years as an electrician he had never seen something like it, and because there is a wooden wall beside it if i hadnt of disconnected it the house would have gone up in the middle of the night!

Oh and as if to add an extra freak factor to it, the film i was watching was Hereafter!

When i was a kid my mam was driving to galway to see her mother as she did regularly, I always went with her. On the morning of another trip, we were all set to go, I put my tiny foot down and said there is no way in hell I am getting in that car. My mam thought i was doing the usual stubborn brat thing, gave out etc.....still no way I was going. Neighbours minded me for the day.

On the way back a bull came out of a field and impaled the passenger side of the car where I would have been sitting, My mam got some nasty cuts from glass etc, god know what would have happened to me.

You missed something. If not, you should bring it to a physicist and share in the Nobel Prize for providing the real-world example of a suspension of the laws of physics. Then go to James Randi and claim your million US dollars.

    I'm serious.

Similar enough-ish story to this one. Few years ago, me and my mam pulled up on the side of the road near a corner to nip in and pick up chipper for dinner because we'd had a really long day. I was absolutely exhausted and begged my mam to go in and Id pay-we had a jokey argument about it because she didnt wanna go in because she'd been driving. Anyway she goes into the chipper and I wait in the car for her in the passenger seat. Just as my mam comes out of the chipper, a lorry tries to turn the corner and the back end of it slams full force into the drivers side of the car. Would have almost certainly killed her if she was sitting in it  The whole right side of the ca was crushed and I only got a scrape. Really shook my mam up.

The other freakiest thing is suffering from sleep paralysis. Only started getting it 1-2 years ago, and the first few times when you dont know whats going on is terrifying. You feel like your whole body is being compressed tightly, you try to scream but cant make a sound, you think other people are in the room/hear voices etc. Freeeeaky. :( Used to it now though and can kinda kick myself outta it if I realise whats happening in time, or sometimes just go with it-its not as scary when you know the simple biology behind it.

I used to work in a supposedly haunted castle too. Have lots of stories but nobody ever believes em

in 2005 on the day of the 7/7 bombings I had been due to catch a train from paddington to Reading. Normally to get there i would have had to take the circle line tube from great Portland St, going through Edgware Road station at about 8.45-8.55.

That morning when I woke up I was having difficulty breathing and was feeling very anxious, despite not having had any asthma problems for a good ten years. I decided to call at the doctor round the corner and as a result was running about 20 minutes behind schedule.

Great Portland St station was now closed. If i'd set off on time there's a high chance i'd have been on the tube that exploded at Edgware Rd.

Never had a problem with my asthma since that day either.

Also, my gran was due to fly home from my aunt's in germany but decided to stay for a few days longer as she "had a bad feeling" on the day of her flight home from Frankfurt.

The airport was bombed by terrorists that day.

When I was a kid I used to cycle up and down the little road that connects our house top the main road. One day when I got to the top I had a weird feeling when I looked towards the town a mile away. I came back down and was cycling around the house when my sister called me to the window. Before she said anything, I said, "The school is on fire". I don't know how I knew, you couldn't see it or anything from our house, it just came into my head that's that what she was going to say, and it was! Her friend had rang her up to tell her! Always remember that, thought twas very strange!

In 2009 when I was studying for my leaving cert I started daydreaming. My Dad was coming to visit because there was a club do on in one of the locals. In my daydream I imagined him with a new woman, introducing her to all the locals etc. So Dad arrives an hour later. He comes into my room, which was very unusual. asks me how study is going and that, then says "I've something to tell you, I'm seeing someone, I hope that's OK!" It was very weird, kinda freaked me out a bit!!

Over the Summer, I had a dream that my aunt posted a birthday message on my cousins wall. This was about 2 days before her birthday that I had the dream. Anyway, in the dream I dreamt that my cousin and her boyfriend were going away for the weekend, and when they came back my cousin showed us all pictures of her in a wedding dress and getting married etc, where they had eloped. Anyway cut forward to a few days later, my mam rings me up and tells me my cousin went away for the weekend and her boyfriend had proposed to her:eek:!

My friend and I were talking about this sort of thing the last day, I'm so glad other people experience these things too:o:)

One night I was lying down in bed just drifting off when I got a really instense itching in my ear, scratched it like crazy and sat up in bed and felt something in the back of my throat, I reached in and took out what I think was a curled up spider. I threw it on the floor and heard the little thud of it. Now common sense tells me this is impossible but .....

Sorry to hear about your son but its nice to know when someone has passed on that they are still near watching over you. Something similar happened to me.

My nana passed last september, one day myself, my mam and my sister walked in our front door and instantly all 3 of us stopped, we could smell my Nana, she hadn't been in our house since the christmas before and we didnt have any of her belongings there either.

In November we were going to visit her grave when we saw a butterfly in the green outside the graveyard, normally butterflies don't usually hang around in November so it took us all by surprised but when we got to the grave the same (or so we think) butterfly was there. Felt very comforted that day.

I used to work in a cinema in Dublin, Used to see loads of weird stuff but the freakiest thing happened one night, I left some of the other staff go clock out early as just one small screen was left to clean.

I went into the screen and as it was the last showing of the night the projectionist had turned off all the lights for the evening, I could hear this weird noise lik a bird coming from the emergency exit, the exit door has two doors that need to be pulled and once you do that you have a single door in front, I opened the double doors and there was a frickin owl on the ground starin at me, In the middle of Dublin this is the wirdest thing I have ever seen, Until I turned around...

There was a shadow of a person with an enormous head up the back corner of the screen, I turned on the emergency lights and it was some gob****e locked and fast asleep wearing (I kid you not) a feckin Motorcycle helmet!!!

I promise I was very courteous to him when I asked him to leave!

One RAG week when I was in college, I was about 19-20 and made the stupid decision of taking a few pills after 2 bottles of buckfast and a few cans... Well I passed out, heart went mental, luckily the ambulance was called for me. If it wasn't for that ambulance I could have very easily passed away that night.... Ambulance was called at 03:14... One of my best mates was not out that night but knew I was heading to a party, and he knew the sort of party it was gonna be as well. In the middle of the night he woke of a start and woke his girlfriend to ask did she think I would be ok at the party. She assured him I would be fine. He checked the time before heading back to sleep. It was 03:14!!!

Reminds me of when I was 13 and one Sunday we were leaving after visiting my nana. We were in the car and I called out stop, and got out and ran back and hugged my nana again. We were really close and I suddenly had this feeling I'd never see her again.

The following Tuesday I was getting ready to go to school when my mum came in and said my nana had been rushed to hospital. My mum was in a right state but wouldn't say anymore and said I had to go to school.

When I got home from school my neighbour was there to meet me and my siblings. I knew that my nana was dead. She had died from a stroke, aged just 66 :(

A few days later I was up at her house with my family minding my grandfather. I was crying on my own in one of the bedrooms and I heard what sounded like my nana's footsteps (she kind of had a shuffle). I looked out the window and no-one was there.

I suddenly felt comforted and later that evening I told my mum what I had heard. She was really shocked and said she and my sister had heard the same thing at different times that day.

I've had a good few premonitions of things over the years.

Another was a dream i had that was really vivid. In it my brother's face flashed in front of me and I woke startled. We had not been in touch for about 10 years. I rang my mum who told me his marriage had broke down earlier that week and he was moving in with her while he fought for custody of his children (he got it!) :)

The minute display on the clocks in your car and kitchen are stuck, but the hour seems fine. Get some sleep now.

One night I was lying down in bed just drifting off when I got a really instense itching in my ear, scratched it like crazy and sat up in bed and felt something in the back of my throat, I reached in and took out what I think was a curled up spider. I threw it on the floor and heard the little thud of it. Now common sense tells me this is impossible but .....

is it possible this was a really vivid dream or maybe you had a few too many drinks...just a suggestion??:)

Was watching family guy earlier and there was a similar scene in it to one in the film ferris buelers day off. I thought to myself that I hadn't seen that film in years and I might try get it on DVD tomorrow. Low and behold, its on rte 2 now! I had no idea it was on tonight! Not half as strange as most of the other stories but I found it weird!

    Just a coincidence?

Me and OH went to Paris a few yrs back, did all the usual sites including Arc d'triumphe. Got there around 3 o'clock on an April afternoon and there was a wreath laying ceremony on for WW1 soldiers. There were two old soldiers in wheelchairs, I presume it was v close to having none......

Also we were staying for a week in sud France in Sept a couple of yrs later. We decided to take a trip to Monte Carlo in a hire car, drove around, parked near the casino. Decided to walk up to the palace, on the way just happened to walk into the church where Princess Grace is buried, while in there guess who walks in and lays flowers on her mother's grave?

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

the ear is connected to the throat by the Eustachian tube, so this isnt as impossible as you might think!

Over a month ago I started getting Deja Vu, but anyone I ask says they dont get the same experience.

This to me is the freaky bit... I can feel it right before I get it, I get light headed, dizzy and all hot. Really creeps me! I hate getting them as the feeling just isn't right :o

A keyboard my dad gave my daughter before he died worked years after he died without any batteries or plug!

When I read this, I thought of solar powered calculators, but didn't know if there was solar powered keyboards. Turns out there is.
Is there any chance it might be a solar powered keyboard? No need for batteries or wires, and they can be charged from any light source, and stay charged for up to 3 months in complete darkness even.

I don't know when they were invented though, or if they were invented before or after your father passed away.

My cousin asked me to mind his farmhouse while he went on holidays. Drove down to his house in Clare last Oct. He is 1 mile from the nearest house. Ghost story on Radio 1 raising the hackles. Driving down his road at 11pm in the wind and rain, saw a very white face in the middle of the trees. Stopped the car and said if I dont see what it is it will haunt me for ever. It was the front of his donkeys nose, hiding in the trees from the rain.
