Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There is a lot of stuff that looks like its on Mubi but is unavailable. E.g. 2001 a space odessey. Maybe over 15 months it rotates.

The stuff changes a lot but it tends to have a few gems at a time and as you say 15 months for 0 euro is a good deal :)
Film of the day is spot to browse in usually

    Deadly, thank you.

    Thanks OP, great spot.

I went into Paypal and cancelled the payment method, so should be a roundabout way of ensuring it doesn't renew.

  • Registered Users Posts: 481 ✭✭onform

Excellent stuff OP. I had just got a month free a couple of weeks ago on a referral from someone else. I had to cancel the sub and lose the remainder of the free month before I got the Scrbed offer code to apply, but obviously works out better. I guessed to get the full 15 months free you'd have to start with a new account, but I'm delighted with 12. Just don't forget to cancel the Scrbed sub!

    Cheers OP!

Once people get to this step
"3. Then use the link scribd.com/acc…les and select the option 'Get Mubi For Free'"

You will find the code at the end of the URL in the search bar.

I think I'll pass as the movies don't seem like anything I would watch. I'd probably forget to cancel and get charged.
Anyway I think I have enough with what I have

    Netflix
    Prime Video
    Disney+
    hulu
    Paramount+ (CBS ALL ACCESS)
    HBO Max
    Peacock
    Showtime
    NBC
    The CW
    Crackle
    Filmrise
    Hoopla
    Kanopy
Roku channel (original Batman and Robin Saturday morning memories)
    Tubi
    Pluto TV
    My 5
    UKTV Play
    Discovery+ India
    S Sports+
    All other UK TV Apps

Thanks OP. Question - I see you have to wait until close to the 15 months to cancel Mubi (if you want to).

Can you cancel the Scribd right now - presume that has no impact on the Mubi account?

Yes, cance Scribd now, they say they'll remind you before 1st payment but they didn't for me previously and I had to chase them for a refund.

Another great spot on bargain alerts. Some great movies there, I'm pretty fond of the foreign movies myself and some great directors included. Thanks op.

Where do you see a list of what they have?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,575 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

Very interesting range of movies but it won't appeal to everyone. I've found it difficult to get the great dictator anywhere.
I got the 15 months. I did the three months first (and activated) and then the 12 months. Worse case scenario, I forget to cancel and pay the tenner. Some class movies that I've been trying to watch for ages.

Are things not on demand? I thought the catalogue was available at all times?

I just scrolled through the menu on the firestick and then when I changed the vpn to a US city I got more selections.

Id love a price breakdown.Probably less than S*Y. I tried Curve, Rev and CU Debit card with Discovery+ India to no avail.

Just FYI- MUBI is always free for art/film students signing up with a University account.

Don't mind me asking but how did you set up Discovery + India. I managed to get the app on my phone by setting up an Playstore India account but cannot get it on the TV apart from Chromecast, which doesn't bother me, however it will not take Revolut or MasterCard Zen?

Well HBO Max is the easiest and has some excellent shows and movies. As usual VPN/ Smart DNS required to watch.

Subscribe via the US play store with a linked Revolut card using US address. Divide the cost between 2 others. Works out at about €4.20/month each.

How did you get hoopla and kamopy working? Is there a way to get a US library card,?

Hmm interesting, I tried to do that with my existing account (exp. August 2021) and it won't work, tells me it's already in use and won't let me sign in. I had to sign up for a new account and only got 12 months.

I am currently on the £50 for 12 months offer (expiring in October this year) and I got the 12 months (and 10 days) to extend it to 2022.

My sub only goes 12 months.

This is well worth the effort, the selection is awesome.
I've signed up for all the streaming deals on here and this is as good if not the best.

After a week, I'm not impressed to be honest. I get buffering ( I don't on anything else) and I find the experience difficult to browse through. Maybe I was expecting different but I was looking for more things like the Spanish apartment.

The Mubi app on my LG tv is awful, pretty much unusable, non responsive. Works fine on the Firestick though, so I've been using the app on there instead.

I'd be interested in finding out if you got the 50% offer on P+? I am paying for it through Apple, couldn't get any card (Revolut, N26, etc) to work for payment. I do however use N26 to pay for Hulu, year sub with ads, totally worth it imo.

What's this got to do with Mubi free for 15 months??

Just checked my subscription details and it says "Your subscription rate is €9,99 per month. The next charge for your subscription will be on June 06, 2021."

Is this right? Can't remember what it said when I signed up for the deal. I checked my paypal account for the past three months and there's no payment taken from Mubi. Could someone check their sub details? Ta :o

Mine says "subscribe now". I ended the Scribd thing after over 3 weeks but it looks like they rescinded Mubi too.

I had got rid of Scribd on the day also, and notice my Mubi sub seems to be gone also today. Was working up until a few days ago definitely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 481 ✭✭onform

I asked Mubi customer service about this. They replied saying

"You receive a free MUBI subscription together with the Scribd subscription as long as you're still subscribed to Scribd. If your subscription expired, it means most likely that you are no longer subscribed to Scribd. Should you still be subscribed, please get in touch with Scribd, so they can provide you with a new code to activate your subscription.“

So game over for me. I see people on the hukd thread saying they've had their subs cancelled also. Oh well, got a few free months anyway!

Don't forget to cancel your PayPal account for Mubi or you could end up paying for next month!
