Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had the pleasure of watching Old School.
Damned fine comedy, Vince Vaughn is one funny fecker, as is Will ferrel. It has the added bonus of Jacks daughter from 24 scantily clad.
My brother reckoned this is as funny as Dumb and Dumber, but I couldn't go that far really.
    Well worth a watch.

Its not as funny as Dumb & Dumber but its more memorable imo. So many great quotes, its legendary among my circle of friends. It shaped our summer in Canada; we must have watched it 10 times in between STREAKING THRU THE QUAD TO THE GYMNASIUM and cheering FRANK THE TANK to someone doing a beer stand.

During the north american blackout during the summer, we were walking along a dark street. A couple of canadians walked by us and one of us shouted "we're going streaking!". Imagine our surprise when they responded with a series of "through the quad to the gymnasium!"s and "you're my boy blue!, you're my boy!"s. Basically its got a bit of a cult following.

And yea, Kim Bauer wearing very little was nice :)

I watched Once Upon A Time In the West.
Probably the best western of all time. Niiice.
    :)

Will Ferrell made that film what it is.
I think he's easily the funniest person working in movies today.

The commentary on Old School is pretty funny too, all the main actors and director sitting around having a laugh. You also find out that Luke Wilson has apparently named both his eyes ("Kevin" and "Shorty"). The commentary is almost as good as the film itself.

Welcome To Collinwood. slightly amusing at times, but theres really nothing too much to keep your attention, Clooney for some reason is plastered on the front cover yet only has the smallest of parts in it.. avoid.

Clerks - classic film, great dialogue, dead funny

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,529 ✭✭✭patch

The remastered 'The Hitcher'. This movie is just as good as I remembered it, a classic.
Made back when Rutger Hauer was still a brilliant actor, not making direct to video crap.
Seek it out people, you won't be disappointed.

The One starring Jet Li. Bit of a Matrix rip-off but it's good fun and the ending rocks.

the werckmeister harmonies - long black and white hungarian movie full of slow scenes, in which a travelling circus thing with a dead whlae shows up in a town and everyone goes ape***t. Bizarrest thing I've seen in a while but very hypnotic.

Also One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.

    Young guns II

a B rate western starring jon bon jovi. enjoyable to a certain extent but dissapointing. the best thing about this film is the theme song blaze of glory

    2/5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

Bon Jovi hardly stars in it. According to imdb he's not even credited for it.

Anyway, I watched Flaming Brothers, with Chow Yun Fat and Alan Tang.
Pretty action packed. A bit like The Killer and Hard Boiled only the police play a very minimal role in it.
