Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Le Cheile Arts & Music Festival in Oldcastle, Co Meath happens over the August bank Holiday weekend..... They always keep a few slots open for late applications in case of a "Wow - They're great, but where can we put them" situation...

There's a couple of acoustic slots left and maybe one or two full band slots ... 50ish acts in total... Headliners Ash, Hamsandwich, Damien Dempsey.... It's a decent festival and worthy of the trip.

Its great. We did it last year and had a ball. Didnt win but that didnt bother us too much, were just glad to play it. The festival itself is brilliant also. I hadnt even heard of it until the competition caught my eye but its a small enough festival with a few big bands

    Alright folks,

We (being the band My Pilot) have a gig in Whelans next Thursday 28th April 2016 which has landed in our laps at short notice. We are looking for a support act.

Being the least well-connected band in the world, we don't have any musician friends we can ask to support us on the night. So basically this is a shout out to any interested bands/acts who might be available at a week's notice.

It's one of those 'Midnight Hour' gigs upstairs at Whelans at, erm, midnight.

Give us a shout if you fancy it.

Email: contactmypilot at gmail dot com
    Twitter: my_pilot

You could also bring this to the attention of anyone you know whose band might be able to step in.

    Cheers y'all!

Don't forget to check with your local arts office to see what grants or bursaries might be available to musicians! Just make sure to put together a sound financial plan and budget with supporting material. This kind of thing can be very uselful for recording and distribution.

Dublin City bursaries are now live:

    Dolbert,

Have you heard of any bands getting a bursary before? Just not sure whether to apply to my local council. We aren't full time gigging, but are looking to put out new EP august and need funding.

Yep, me! I got a grant from Kildare CoCo for a few hundred last year to fund mostly equipment costs and distribution for our new EP (home recording). They also have a bursary for 3 days in the studio which is well worth applying for. That was the standard grant though, which normally comes out in January (it's different in Dublin City, they come out in September). They're well worth applying for, most musicians aren't even aware of them.

Plenty of gigs available in Fibbers over next few months. We've played a few of these, unpaid but they'll keep you tight.

Also give these guys in Ballymun a shout.
