    Can't wait for this...Reyes I think has a chance but I don't think he's
quite ready for the puzzle that is jon jones just yet.
Could see him picking up a round, two at a push...

I like Katlyns confidence but I just can't see how she beats the second best fighter in the worlds...Valentino by murder

Latifi has a shot for me even though a big underdog

Two title fights but I don't see the womens one being much of a contest.
Rest of it looks weak enough, prelims as weak as I've seen for a ppv card and not a whole lot better/worse than the mc gregor cowboy card

Honestly it looks weaker than the McGregor V Cowboy card. Or equally bad anyway.
Not much interest in ANY of the prelims.

Bektic v Ige has FOTN potential.
Think Black Beast will be far too powerful for Latifi.
    Juan Adams. Meh.
    Valentina steamrolls Chookagian.
    Jones outpoints and outsmarts Reyes.

Tough to get excited about a Jon Jones card. Unless he actually loses. Then I'll be retroactively excited.

Better card than McGregor thats for sure.

Looking forward to the main event I actually think Reyes has a decent chance but I fancy Jones by decision.

You really think so? Seems a bit forced tbh.

Which fights do you find interesting? (outside of Jones and Valentina obviously)

What are the chances of him being beaten?
I don't know anything about Reyes apart from the 12/0 headline but I happen across a face-off pic yesterday and he looked taller which is a nice change for Jones opponent. I can't watch anything Jones related so I'll be avoiding this, it'd be good if he got a spanking though.

    Hopefully a Reyes KO.

I fancy the Decision Queen Chookagian to win...via decision.

Yeah, Shevchenko is probably most exciting female to watch. Black beast is either great or gasses out. But after than I think it takes a nose dive fast. Probably just catch the main card.

20% think Reyes will beat Jones, how and why?

Also, an even longer shot: but is anywhere likely to be showing the fight in town tonight? Could get dragged to leeson st. later but I really want to see the fight, I was just going to go home early instead but it could be a great night.

For what it’s worth the bookies think he has a 20% chance of winning also.

watching and laughing at rogan and cruz saying the judges werent even looking at the womens fight in main pre lim, and were just talking to each other instead of watching. not sure lewis won his fight either could be some weird decisions tonight. hoping bektic takes this one.

I don't see how you can score the Lewis fight as anything other than rd 1 & rd 3 for Lewis and rd 2 Latifi. Latifi started well in the third, but did no damage, by the end of the round Lewis was landing big punches and could have had him out of there. Zero problem with the scores.

Hopefully we get a ko here to speed this card up.

you're prob right and i was just being swayed by rogan, yep please lets get a quick 1st round ko.

Quick KO as I had hoped with the heavies, serious uppercut there from Tafa.

Shevchenko was absolutely ridiculous there, it was like a professional versus an amateur. Glad the referee stopped it, was only ever gonna go one way. She's ****ing brilliant.

Great first round. Let's go Reyes!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,056 ✭✭✭darced

I have reyes 3-0, crazy Jon needs a finish.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Still Ill

    Could be 2-2 tbh

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Reyes is 3 - 1 up for me going into the last. But he looks shattered. If he survives this round, he should be the champ.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

3 - 2 Reyes for me. I think he has done it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Still Ill

I just think they'll find a way to give round 2/3 to Jones.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,056 ✭✭✭darced

Jones done very little, lots of forward pressure but completely outstruck and lost the wrestling. It'll still be close though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Still Ill

    49-46?!

    Reyes by KO
How did one judge score that 49-46, just shows you have to stop the champ.
Will never get a decision against the champ with these judges. Absolute farce.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

"I thought I won 1 through 3". Thats because you did.

    **** those judges.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭spix

Jon got beaten in every way except endurance but that shouldn't win you a fight. Reyes had all the bigger moments, clearly stunning Jon a few times, landed harder kicks, punches throughout the whole fight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 705 ✭✭✭al87987

Yeah I'll echo the rest that i thought Reyes won the first 3. Lost the last two but no 10-8's in there.

Great fight though, would like to see it run back.

You would need a different set of judges though. You could not beat him by decision with a panel of judges like that no matter how many times you ran it back. Unless you manage to finish him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 705 ✭✭✭al87987

All the judges gave Reyes the first, two gave Jones the 2nd and two gave Jones the 3rd also.

Think they were maybe influenced a little too much by the forward pressure of Jones, controlled the octagon but was outstruck through three quite clearly for me.

Rogan and Co. Going off on the judging system and tonights judges now, think they had Reyes winning the first three also.

Despite winning my bet, I had Reyes winning. Especially when it was called 49-46.. Crazy judging all night. Gotta feel sorry for Reyes

The 49-46 was a joke. I had it 2-2 going into the last that Jones won. I'll rewatch it again as it could have been the forward pressure that swayed me in the third. Jon's been in a few stinkers lately I did think this fight was good at all.

    Reyes by KO
Just watched the fight, Jesus Christ Reyes was robbed of that belt. He clearly won the first 3 in my opinion, Jones had the last 2, thought it was a simple fight to call. ****ing hell, sickened with that result and not because of a dislike for Jones, Reyes was the better man there.

Jones struggling again to beat not exactly elite competition. He's fortunate the light heavyweight division is such a poor division for this long.

Reyes looked really good but Jones looked bang average, far from goat.

Reyes' biggest win was against Weidman who's won 1 fight since May, 2015 & has been finished in every other fight. (Most at middleweight)
Santos beat Anders, Manuwa & Blachowicz which isn't exactly a killers row. It might be one of the easiest routes to a title fight you will get, bar Aldo getting a shot after losing to Moraes.

Latifi was so boring it was unbelievable.

Valentina is so awesome to watch. Love to see her go up again and take out Nunes.

Reyes definitely won the first two rounds.
    Jones won the last two.
That middle round is the fight decider imo. It was a very close fight.

Shocked two judges gave Jones round two and the 4-1 Jones guy is obviously a numbskull. Reyes takedown defence and ability to get back up was really impressive. Real pity he didn’t have some five round experience. If he had more gas in the tank those last two rounds Jones was in big trouble. There was nothing behind Reyes shots in rounds four and five.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,598 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

    Jones by Sub
    Rounds 1,2,4,5 were clear cut.
Round 3 was the decider and I gave it to Reyes. Could see how a judge could go the other way though.
The 4-1 scorecard and unanimous decision will make it go down as a bigger robbery than it was.

So relieved Jones won after foolishly lumping on him and I love Jon Jones but I thought Reyes won the fight. I thought Reyes won the first three rounds. Jones won the last two and Reyes was backing off for those two but he was well ahead by then..

I need to rewatch it, but at the time I thought Reyes did more to win it.

Can't remember which fight it was exactly but Rogan and Cruz were calling out the judges long before the main card began because they weren't looking at the fight. Rogan even pointed out that it had been a solid minute since they looked up from the desk and him and Cruz kept referring to the judges all night. I think they were boxing judges aswell because a fight went to the ground and Rogan remarked that the judges won't know how to score grappling exchanges since they've never done it before. Texas really has a reputation for poor judges and a poor commission.
