Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would anyone know what the translation for the surname 'Eames' is as gaeilge, or know anybody with that surname who would know the translation please?

It sounds English to me so it might not have a translation in Gaeilge.

I can't find an Irish version of it in 'An Sloinnteoir Gaeilge agus an tAinmneoir' and McLysaght's 'The Surnames of Ireland' says it's from a Middle-English word meaning 'uncle', but gives no indication of an Irish language version. There probably isn't any Irish version, unless you want to make one up yourself!

Ya looks like you will have to think up of a sensible translation for it
