Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not saying one way or the other. Just making a light hearted comment :) I do think the definition of bigot he gave is not precise enough, and find the latter ones far better.

You have to be in work to qualify as "working" class, though, which is something those loopers wouldn't know the first thing about.

Maybe, it still stands a group of work shy loopers who are from a working class area are going to still flake the tar out of a group of activists who got the green line in cause they heard Gemma oDoherty would be there.

Don't think anyone is in doubt about the far-right being a gang of violent thugs. Ah well, maybe the smooth brains will have some sense knocked into them.

Still, I imagine it'll be less Cable Street and more a bunch of lagered up red-faces struggling not to trip over themselves while slurring chants about Jews.

Calling them the far right is stretching it, largely apolitical but saw a chance to bash in some rich kids counter protesting them.

The straightforward answer is usually correct.

    Old fashioned class divide.

Considering they're carrying a banner and signs for the National Party, I'm not sure what else you'd call them. Certainly wouldn't call carrying signs advertising a political party "apolitical" but what the hey.

Oh and maybe you could explain, since you're here, how standing next to someone who's a paedophile makes you a paedophile. O'Gorman has stated that he wasn't aware of Tatchells views at the time. Kind of funny to see ye engaging in the auld guilt by association since so many of ye object to the same being done to you (even though you agree with/endorse those views so it's not at all comparable).

The antifa "anti Zionists" are the ones most likely to be going on about Jews.

Their presence there today must have brought a tear to the blinking eye of one of their founders Pat Corcoran who was caught with thousands of images of children being raped and abused.

No wonder they have an affinity with Tatchell and his defenders.

It is only a tiny minority and they are an embarrassment to many LOI supporters.

The sheer arrogance of them to think they can foist their ultra left cr@p on everyone else.

Some of same clowns attempted to introduce this onto Hill 16 a few years back but they can't thrive in an environment where people are there just to see their team and come from all sorts of backgrounds. The smaller crowds at LOI unfortunately give them a greater impact than they deserve.

It wouldnt be so bad if they were kids, but ones I know are in their 40s and older!

Im concerned about and suspicious of anyone who counter-protests a protest against pedophilia, as well as those who play down general concerns about it being associated to our government in any way shape or form, as well as being shut down for showing, said concern and in this case being accused of being homophobic etc

When I saw the video of the Antifa crowd. I honestly laughed. It was pathetic. Personally, I have a low tolerance for anybody who thinks they can scream over people to drown out their rite to protest. I feel sorry for the poor c*nt who owns the PA equipment. Id says he's riddled with guilt. If you counter-protest expect a reaction. They got it.

Posting on Boards.ie is a pointless exercise. Nobody reads this drivel. It's real life action that matters. That's the hard lesson Eamonn Crudden and his handful of crusty supporters learned today. Well done to the massive crowd of ordinary decent people who came together today to oppose pedophilia apologists at the highest level of our government. Hard to believe that some antifa lowlifes would oppose this but there you go.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,693 ✭✭✭2u2me

Antifa were protesting them; so they were clearly fascists. To think anything else would be too much thinking. Best not to do that and just repeat mantra that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Got that people? If you protest against paedophilia and hormone treatment for kids you are now a fascist. Antifa only counter protests against fascists.

It's quotes like this that prove exactly why these far right groups operate the way they do.

Pick an emotive subject, usually one that there are already laws against(corruption, pedophilia)
Get some highly circumstantial evidence if possible. If not possible, just get some tweets to support your argument.
Demand justice. But shut down anyone who demands real evidence, due process, presumption of innocence etc

Then declare anyone who disagrees with you pro corruption or pedophile or whatever.

But you can guarantee anyone promoting this mob mentality would be demanding their due process rights should they be convicted of anything.

To be fair this is the first time theyve managed to pull off that lefty trick. Usually we see it all the time with swathes of communist flags and rainbow flags at a protest about homelessness or something , anyone complains and they look like a dick giving out about homeless people.

The far right have managed to do that yesterday, those protesting against the anti-paedophile protest must feel like assholes in retrospect.
Im aware they were protesting against the usual suspects getting a platform but it really just looks like theyre protesting in favour of paedos to anyone who isnt really aware of what the national party is

Whatever about the rights and wrongs of either side, the general public (in most western countries) have been extremely tolerant of Antifa protests. This tolerance is surprising because the Antifa protests are typically loud, obnoxious and disruptive. I know if I was walking down the street with my family and saw a typical Antifa protest, I would turn around to avoid them as I wouldn’t feel comfortable approaching them.

Here's the most successful trick of all. Using the welfare system to make private profits by having private industry take over from public services you let fall asunder, then when people complain about taxes and the like point the finger at the poor and sick.

The right doing that isn't new its how they exist at all. 'A government for people who like to get up early', suggesting anyone needing aid is lazy. The victims are the problem not the cause.

Who founded antifa? There's no board of directors.
These dirt are using pedophilia to try lure people in to their far right world of anti-gay anti-choice God and hangings.

I'll ask again, what paedophile do these far-right twerps think they're protesting against? Because it looks like it's just a protest calling for the hanging of a left-wing politician. The usual fascism apologists are out in force, still pushing the "he's a paedophile" angle but it really does look like ordinary decent people aren't buying it. I suppose when you're humiliated at the ballot box, you have to resort to whatever insane methods you can concoct to try and gain some traction.
