Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I won the prediction competition at Christmas so maybe I should attend? I’m also a fan of Justin Sun. Don’t want to sit near McAfee, Craig S Wright, Larimer though as I get the feeling any of them might suddenly stab you. Brock Pierce looks like the sort of shiny faced creep who would drop the hand. Maybe V Buterin. I could finish off all his lunch for him after he has had a spoonful of each course.

It'd almost be sad if he wasn't such a cancerous bellend. He looks to be severely mentally ill but he makes it very difficult to conjure up any sympathy.

    Good popcorn moments I guess?

CSW would probably like to think he's some kind of celestial being, yet there he is having to be told to act like a grown man instead of like a teenager.

What's up with the few people who believe him? They're aware of how important censorship resistance was to Satoshi yet this fûcknut shows up and says he always wanted it to be permissioned, NSA-friendly and free of criminality. Something no fungible money can ever be. His story makes zero sense. I'd suspect anybody who believes him might be needing a bib again someday soon. Crazy delusions.

9 is the best number, fwiw. Hopefully there'll be good profit with both, but I suspect xtz can go much higher if the Metamask and Defi/stablecoin equivalents get off the ground.

I had like 13 quid lying around and bought some ripple as I felt bad for the xrp army watching as all the other stuff pumps. A burden shared is a burden halved.

They got Al Capone for tax evasion. They got McAfee for pushing shítcoins on people. Looks like Verge gave him 6 million in Bitcoin to push their coin. Verge! :D

    https://www.coindesk.com/fca-bans-sale-of-cryptoderivatives-to-retail-consumers-in-uk

The UK is banning the sale of crypto derivatives to retail customers. This will impact the likes of Etoro, Bitmex, and the shady bucketshop that is Binance - amongst others of course.

“This ban reflects how seriously we view the potential harm to retail consumers in these products. Consumer protection is paramount here,” said Sheldon Mills, interim executive director of Strategy & Competition at the FCA.

Mills said that high price volatility and the difficulty of “reliably” valuing crypto assets brought high levels of risk for retail investors.

“We have evidence of this happening on a significant scale,” he said “The ban provides an appropriate level of protection.”

The regulator suggested that retail consumers would save around £53 million from the ban on such derivative products.

    Article
Anti-virus software creator John McAfee, who is wanted in the US for tax evasion, has been arrested at Barcelona airport, police said.

Officers detained the 75-year-old on Saturday as he was about to board a flight to Istanbul.

He is being held at a jail near Barcelona awaiting extradition to the US, a Spanish police source told AFP news agency.

His arrest comes a day after US prosecutors released an indictment against Mr McAfee for allegedly failing to report income made from promoting crypto-currencies, making speaking engagements and selling the rights to his life story for a TV documentary.

The indictment, which was issued in June but only unsealed yesterday, said Mr McAfee failed to file tax returns from 2014 to 2018, despite receiving "considerable income" from several sources.

Mr McAfee allegedly evaded taxes by directing his income to be paid into bank accounts and crypto-currency exchange accounts in the names of others, according to the indictment.

He is also accused of evading the US tax office by concealing assets, including real estate, a yacht and a car, by putting them in the name of others.

US officials issued an arrest warrant through Interpol and have asked for his extradition, according to Spanish police.

Since making a fortune with his eponymous antivirus software in the 1980s that still bears his name, Mr McAfee has become a self-styled crypto-currency guru, claiming to make $2,000 a day.

He made tabloid headlines after moving to Belize and his neighbour in the Central American country was mysteriously murdered in 2012, a crime that remains unsolved.

When the police found him living with a 17-year-old girl and discovered a large arsenal of weapons in his home, Mr McAfee disappeared on a month-long flight that drew breathless media coverage.

The dead neighbour's family later filed a wrongful death suit against Mr McAfee and last year a court in Florida found against him, ordering him to pay the family more than $25m.

In 2015, Mr McAfee was arrested in the US for driving under the influence. He again disappeared from view until January 2019, when he fled the country.

Squeaky bum time for Bitfinex/Tether management based in counties with an extradition agreement with the US.

Justin Sun might be booking a ticket to somewhere exotic as well.
