Think I spotted a Curlew the other evening. Do they have a white patch on their tail when they fly. It had a very long beak. I need clarification.

Both Curlew and Whimbrel are possible at the moment and both have long beak and white rump - upperpart between the wings.

Probably a Whimbrel so. Never actually heard of them. Are they smaller than Curlews.
