A woman who the Irish Times identified as a mental health professional was murdered in Dun Laoghaire. The article doesn't state whether she was killed by a patient/client but it got me wondering how often psychologists might face a physical threats in the line of work?

In my line of work, this can be a daily occurrence. It's rare that an actual physical assault takes place, but verbal abuse is par for the course, daily. moreso, it would be other service users who would be assaulted.

This is why risk assessment is so important.
