Knee pain advise

I've been out of commission for about 6-8 weeks now with left knee pain.

Pre lockdown I was comfortably running 7-9 km 4-5 times a week with the occasional 14km at the weekend. Nothing major and generally around 5mins per km.

I stopped going out regularly and in a stupid move I pushed myself hard for 10 km after knowing there was something off with my knees feeling tight when I fully bend. Knees are wrecked now and although better than the first week after, they still ache and I can't run at all on them.

Is this a sign that at 37 I might need to lay off the running or can this be fixed with strengthening exercises? Any advise would be great because I am lost without my runs.

Go see a physio if possible, they should tell you exactly what your issue is. Medical advice of any kind is against the forum charter.

I probably knew this was going to be the answer alright. Thanks :)
