Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No date stamp in DG window

    Hopefully this is the correct forum for this question.

    I'm currently looking at a detached house with double glazed windows. Upon inspection, I can't see any date stamped on them (well between the glass).
    As the house was built in 2001, is it safe to assume the windows are original fittings ? (wasn't the stamping introduced in 2002 onwards?)
    Would newer double glazed windows have better thermal retention properties ? (trying to determine if windows should be replaced during renovation work)

    the questions isnt whether its "safe to assume"

    the question is, is there any proof they are older?

    no proof, then default to the age of the building.

    did you check inside the frame of the openable section? sometimes you may find a date stamp there.

    also, ive seen date stamps from the 1990s
