Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Kill me

I don’t recognise that song. Which album is it on?

What are the views on this? I don't see the appeal at all, even if it was a band I really liked I don't think I would go. I'm sure some people will give it a go all the same but it sounds like a nightmare to me. Would rather stick on YouTube and have a few cans at home.

Nah. I'm good thanks. No matter who might be playing. Pointless.

Wouldn't be a fan of Gavin but it sounds like a decent idea.

Just so long as you don't get a delay between the sound from the PA and the sound from your FM radio. Even a split second would drive you demented.

For someone like Gavin James it's a good idea, romantic date night, semi private concert/picnic with the missus....... I see the appeal.... But I couldn't do it for a band I liked...

Article in today's Indo by Ed Power about it, pages 29-30 of Lifestyle.
    Premium so don't have link.

Quotes other countries that have done it to small audiences.
"Let's see those windscreen wipers in the air" isn't something you would have expected at a gig this year.

Ireland, €60 + s.c. per car of 4 (7 seater people carrier presume more?),
NO alcohol, bring your own food and limited toilet facilities.
Not sure there would be a big demand for it but it's a start.

100 percent. If it was tame impala or Robyn I still wouldn’t go. I’d still be in a separate car from my friends aswell. I’d prefer to go to their garden and listen to Currents in a back garden social distancing. It just screams grim to me

    Yep!
Jump into the back seat and drop the hand during a quiet auld interlude.

Been a hard sell these drive-in shows it seems
Still some Hermitage Green tics up

No alcohol at an Irish gig... right..

Don't see the reasoning for it to be honest. Just sounds like someone wanted to make a quick buck.

Try enforcing no alcohol. People will be driving in with the boot full of cans and their 4 friends in the back.

Gavin James as sold out all of his dates, Hermitage Green will def struggle to sell tickets as they are nowhere near as big as Gavin

Don’t understand why it can’t be a driver plus 4 occupants

Bound to hear the gig outside the venue or even get hold of the radio frequency and listen along for free

As was said earlier people will arrive with a boot full of drink with the 'lads' crammed into the back

Loads going to this for the social media likes and causes it's the popular thing atm

You can't have your car idling so I can see a lot of dead batteries at the end of the gig and with modern car jump starting them can be risky.

?? Why would batteries be dead?

Would you get enough swing out of a car window with a bottle of p1ss?

I presume because Gavin will have sucked the life out of them.

A movie is a dvd on a big screen. Minimal staff numbers.

A concert....well think about the amount of people involved.

This doesn't bode well for the future of drive in's unless they put a roof over it.
For a film or a gig you need to be able to see and rain won't allow that.

Gary Numan has just announced a 15 date tour of the UK in this format.

Even as a massive Numan fan, its a nope from me.

don't see how in cars breaks guidelines myself

Maybe or it could just be the whole idea of the drive-in gigs that put people off.
