Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The Mummy
Raiders of the Lost Ark , Indian Jones and the Last Crusade

Star Wars (the original one, it just works better than the others)

Police Story (Jackie Chan) Thank you channel 4 for showing me there was more than Hollywood.

Ong Bak - Tony Jaa knees and elbows his way though everyone. No wires , no CGI, just pain. The scene with the flames, had retakes

Mad Max II ( and I for different reasons )

Ran - Someone's having a bad heir day :pac:
Pretty as a picture, literally. Lovely colours and composition.
A Shakespearean tragedy set in feudal Japan by Kurosawa the director of Throne Of Blood, a comedy it ain't.

The Good , The Bad and The Ugly. Takes three hours to build up to a climax of three guys just standing around doing nothing.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird , because Japanese occupied China is the perfect setting for a Korean version of the above.

El Mariachi - it's an OK film until you realise it cost only $7,225 to make. 47 Ronin made a loss of $12,500 more that that, for every second of it's two hours that I'll never get back. Plot beats CGI every time.

Conan the Barbarian. Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryas, there was an age undreamed of. ... Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

    And of course
Willow, The Princess Bride, Stardust , guilty pleasures one and all
    Speaking of which
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger - Ray Harryhausen on the stop motion 'nuff said.
    But wait there's more
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad - Ray Harryhausen AND Tom Barker AND Caroline Munro

The first on my list is Terminator 1 & 2. The first two Terminator movies were absolutely brilliant.

As soon as I seen the thread I thought T1 and T2, clicked on the link and so glad to see them straight away, both films are absolutely relentless and have an amazing story that really sucks you in, T2 was so far ahead of its time and still looks amazing by today's special effects standards

I watched The Running Man for the first time last night because I read the Stephen King book a couple of months ago.

It was too different from the book to even believe the filmmakers actually read it. I was disappointed in that sense.

However, its so eighties I thought it was hilarious and entertaining. The Arnie puns are just cheese, "what a hot head", "he had to split" etc. But I did enjoy them.

Overall its not comparable to die hard or lethal weapon in my opinion.

It reminds me of Demolition Man which I think is a good watch.

I just went to download it and realised that it's set in 2017 :)

EDIT: Has anyone mentioned Equilibrium yet?

If we're talking Denzel, Crimson Tide is his best film.

I'd say Fallen is one of his best..really fantastic film.

The haircuts don't hold up so well in Die Hard, but the sequential editing done for all the action set pieces are still f***n class. Timeless action
