Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Teaching Council and Registration

    Hi folks,

I am wondering if anyone of you could help or advise.

I am currently registered with the Teaching Council as a Further Ed teacher (conditionally). They gave me a list of courses I would need to complete in order to get this condition removed. My query is, can I get a PgDip (Level 9) in Outdoor Education from the University of Edinburgh recognised instead of one of their recommendations? How would I go about this? Is it the Dept of Education & Skills that decide this or the TC?

I have been on to the TC to try and get an answer but it seems impossible to get a straight answer.

    Thanks.

It's the Teaching Council that decides. Send in details of your qualification to them, they sometimes get independent assessors to verify if a course meets the requirements or not. They might get back to you for more info.

They might get back to you!.....and send you a whole load of crap, they cannot think outside the box.
This is the worst thing ever that happened to teaching, they have loads of money gathered from teachers over the past 10 years and have done sweet f.a. with it that benefits the profession.I think they thought that they would be similar to the Nurses set up where you can actually register and do professional development but they just stock_piled money instead!
Its about time the Teaching Unions got together and got rid of this good for nothing organisation.
