Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Fox-Mustakim draw
    Diana win
    Butler-Alice draw

Very dubious tactics by our current champion, copying the predictions of his greatest rival. If this nebulous behaviour continues there will be a stewards enquiry which could result in a points deduction/fine and guess who the steward is😬

A lot of landmines hit in round 2, which makes the scoring quite complicated, and again feel free to point out any errors!

Nobody actually missed round 2 in the end, while ishidaogo has joined to bring us up to 19 players.

    I make the standings -
Pos	Poster 1	2	3	Total	Op bal	Score
    1	Retd.LoyolaCpt	0	6	3	9	4	13
    2	FourNaanJeremy	0	3	3	6	3	9
    3	spidersweb	0	1	6	7	1	8
    4	FMtoog -1	6	-1	4	3	7
    5	Rathminor	3	3	0	6	0	6
    5	zeitnot 1	1	0	-1	5	6
    7	En Passant	6	0	-1	5	0	5
    8	alicechristina	0	1	3	4	0	4
    8	Soda Bread	6	-1	0	5	-1	4
    10	Gavinm21	-1	0	0	-1	4	3
    10	Sodacat -3	0	3	0	3	3
    10	checknraise	0	0	3	3	0	3
    10	ishidaogo	0	3	0	3	0	3
    14	Shanemelaugh	-1	0	0	-1	3	2
    15	Tim Harding	-6	1	0	-5	6	1
    15	murphygambit	0	0	0	0	1	1
    15	cdeb 0	0	1	1	0	1
    18	L1m1tless	0	-6	-3	-9	3	-6
    18	anchor4208	-1	-6	0	-7	1	-6

Edit - in fact, only one player who has posted their own score agrees with what I've noted above! A recount is called for. Be right back...

Edit edit - table corrected. "Op bal" is the score at the end of the previous round. So the table above notes the detailed score for this round, then adds to your score to date to get your overall score.

So I had six differences. In two cases, I was wrong, and in four cases, I think posters have missed that they've hit landmines

'If you pick a lower rated player to win and he draws, you lose 1 point' (rough quote).

T O'Gorman didn't draw; he lost. So why is he a landmine? I think he isn't.

Also, I predicted Collins to beat Trisha K, which he did, so that's 1, isn't it?

Some big scores in this round - again, assuming my maths is correct, which we've already seen mayn't be the case!

FourNaanJeremy turns a four point deficit into a four point lead. But with more draws and more tight games (so more "upsets") coming now, four points isn't all that much.

murphygambit the only poster who missed out on this round unfortunately - though still caught up on Rathminor and Soda_Bread!

You predicted a win for Mirza, who drew, so you lose a point for that as do I
Now for the landmines If you predict a win by a higher rated player and he loses you lose 6 pts and if you predict a draw that ends up in a win for the lower rated player you lose 3pts. If you predict a win by a lower rated player and he draws you lose 1 point

The only difference seems to be a -6 landmine. I'll check it later, but you can see your individual scores by game on the tables posted, and that'd quickly narrow it down to one specific match

Ah, I see it (I think)
You gave me -6 for predicting that Murray would beat Ryan, when in fact he lost. That isn't a landmine.

I hope that if you continue your pathetic tipping :) you will be brave enough to identify yourself at the end of the tournament so that you can be presented with a wooden spoon like the one that Tim Harding now holds.
Luckily for me there are no wooden spoons available in the Irish Championship itself :(
