Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nothing to worry about.

    Perhaps.

15 games left. Easy few games for Southampton coming up.

    Liverpool putting together wins.

When are we supposed to go clear?

Maybe they should start showing it.

    3-1 Man City tomorrow.
Hope i'm wrong but i don't think we'll be able to keep out Agüero/Bony

No problem keeping out Bony as he's off with the Ivory Coast ;) I can't see us getting anything from tomorrow either mind you. I hope to be proven wrong though!

You haven't seen the past ten or so seasons, have you?

Not only do they have the best players, but they also have easily the best manager.

They'll click now, although tomorrow will be tough, and then they'll beat nearly everybody else. Like they always do.

Southampton are giving mean the same chills Liverpool did last season, I thought pool were going to fall off but they never did. United have a run of easy games now.

This fourth place trophy is very tense this season.

    Right lads

We're 1-0 up were wnterinb around the 70mkn mark, city are startin to get on top

Do we bring on defensive subs hold what we have?

Do we unleash ozil and walcott to catch them on the break and kill the game?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

I would make one change bring in Ramsey for rosicky and sit him beside coq

Have a feeling we will see flamini and coq start though

    Walcott yes, ozil no.

    Rosicky for Ramsey yes.

Everyone defends with Sanchez and Walcott ready to counter. Pretty much any of our players can set those away, we don't need ozil for it.

Is it still frowned upon to talk about cesc in here?

New thread, new rules? IMO not resigning cesc was a mental decision! We can always fit another world class player in the team.

Out of all the bad mistakes Wenger has made recently this is up there imo.

3-1 City is my final prediction.

Sagna to continue to chase the title from the bench.

IMO that's just because Ozil is out of the team.

If Chelsea had the option to buy Ozil for 35-40 million in this window, should they?

I usually get into the hype and gain confidence as we get nearer the game, but not today can't see past 2/3 - 1 defeat.

    So maybe ............ :)

No because cesc is a better player.

Well prepared for a defeat. Just really hoping we don't embarrass ourselves today.

When we signed Ozil who would you have picked given a choice at that moment in time?

Yeah, football is really about short termism.

In two weeks it's turning now to maybe Moyes wasn't so bad, LVG is not the messiah and Rodgers is the messiah ... again.

Fab has 14 assists and 2 goals I think.

Ozil had 14 and 7 last season. He was out injured a lot and played with a far inferior attack.

They are comparable players and if a team has one, they won't be buying the other. Unless they have insane amount of money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,675 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

I love Ozil, but Cesc was my favourite since the Invincibles.

Still makes me sick to see him with that shower.

Should basically be going with a 4-3-3 today from the start, with tactics switching to countering if we have a lead or a draw to hang onto.

Here's one for you, recent record away in Manchester. Makes for good reading :|

If the man himself steps up today he will become my even more favourite player in the world.

Arsenal team to play @MCFC: Ospina, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Alexis, Giroud.

Arsenal subs: Szczesny, Gibbs, Chambers, Flamini, Rosicky, Ozil, Walcott

Based on that 11 I would be playing Cazorla deeper and Ox further up. Would imagine we'll be targeted down our right-side anyway.

A bad loss or a blown chance at a win today and I'll not meltdown, I hope to get the same from others if we do somehow win. :P

That looks a good starting team.
I hope Coquelin has a good game today, it would be crucial.

I have a good feeling about today. I think this game could have a bit of magic in it.

Interesting to see he has persisted with Bellerin and coq respectively.

Sweating like Fritzel on MTV cribs here.

I don't expect much from the game, so I will only be mildly disappointed if we lose. . .
. . . unless, of course, it is a heavy defeat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,392 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

    Surprised Walcott is not starting.
His pace would ensure they don't push forward on our right and might protect Bellerin a bit.

That's one way to see it.
Another would be that we play massively defensively for as much as we can and if around the 60' mark we are still in the game, bring him in.

A certain solidity as to how we're set up today… I like it!

Best 45 minutes against a genuine top side in a long long time. Tactically excellent.

    Now for the harder 45.......

This is great to watch. Love the teams work ethic. They all looked well drilled and up for it.

Can't see it ending with 22 men. Kos or Kompany (hopefully!) to get sent off.

Very happy with the way we're performing. Very business like.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,691 ✭✭✭emmetlego

As I said earlier, we're set up very well, and soaking up the pressure. Can't remember Ospina having to save or intervene… As good a half against a contender in a long time. Youngsters Coq and Bellerin doing very well too.

Don't want to jinx us, so I'll say no more than this. "Good half, more of the same please"!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,392 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Hope we get another goal and rattle them.
Everyone playing well so far but we will need more from Giroud, he looks lazy today but liable to score a header too.

Wenger has set them up perfect, whatever happens, im really encouraged by his tactics. Bellerin is so good today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

Another top notc display from coq, he is playing himself into that position until the summer

    Sanchez having a mare

If we play like this in our away games in Europe we will win the Champions Lge :D

I totally agree with this, and I'm delighted about it, but I'd have to admit City weren't really up to much in that half. Lots a lazy passes and that.
