Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DB10 has ignored us ever since, and has even flirted with a coaching role at Spurs.

And before the appointment of Pochetino him and De Boer were rumoured to be in talks about the management job and he refused to rule it out.

Lads Wenger is in flying form with the media lately. I don't like it too much positivity.

Expect a lot of attacking play on Sunday with us loosing 4-2

Sounds about right, although for some reason I see us getting a draw 2-2

I have no "beef" with DB10. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy in your post.

Theierry wanted to leave because he wanted to win some silverware before his career ended. His decision was totally justified in the end.

How, his leaving was petulant all DB10 did was not rule out the Spurs position after he'd left arsenal

I think you need to revise your understanding of the word hypocrisy

    3-1 to City this weekend.

I'd be delighted with a draw.

    Two sentences :O

So, DB is better than TH despite his inferior goal scoring record and fear of flying because TH left the club... At least give some good reasons for DB instead of that sh1te because there are some.

If anyone needs to review anything it's you.

    Why I pick DB10

He came at a very poor time in our recent history
He helped change her culture of arsenal's playing style
He scored magnificent goals and provided many more
His presence encouraged other big names to join
    THAT goal against Newcastle

Personally I believe Henry was a better player but to use Bergkamps goal scoring record against him really shows a lack on understanding on your part about what he brought to the club.
I remember going to a game in Highbury when we beat Leicester 5-0.
Anelka scored a hattrick but Bergkamp really was like a man against boys he was so much better than everyone else that day.

Bergkamp is one of if not my favourite player of all time... I know exactly what he brought to the club and the team. I was making a point, and a goal scoring record is perfectly valid to use in any argument for or against a striker.

Incredibly hard to separate DB and TH.
    Different kind of players imo.
I loved both but I also loved the way DB used the physical side of his game. Nothing soft about him at all. We could do with a player like him now although Sanchez has a nice "no nonsense, you won't bully me" approach.

Bergkamps signing was a huge statement, brought the same kind of excitement that came with the signings of Ozil and Sanchez. He wasnt a project or an unknown quantity, he was an established international footballer, with bucketloads of skill

I think in nowadays systems DB would be used as a CAM, as most teams are reluctant to go 2 up top, and personally I think that would have suited him a hell of a lot better , especially in his younger days when he could run.

Agree for me DB was my favourite player of all time but Henry was better!

Anyone reckon Arsene will move after Arteta and Debuchy
are ruled out for 3 months?

I don't unless we lose the next two games because of poor performances from Coq or Flam. If we lose ground and drop to 6th or 7th he might but otherwise I can't see it happening.

Henry was more productive in a goals sense. However, technically speaking, there isn't and wasn't a player in the league better than Bergkamp.

Bergkamp was also the brainiest player I ever saw.

When questioned about Gundogan...He said he's more looking for Defenders...so I guess that rules out DM but I reckon we definitely gonna sign a defender.

    "on Ilkay Gundogan…
He’s not a defender. At the moment we are more looking for the defensive department." - Arsenal.com

    on bringing other players in…
We are out in the market and we are working very hard every day. All our scouts and our people are working very hard to find a defender. - Arsenal.com

On Giroud and his fashion sense:

But of course, it is fabolous no? Actually, ,me and Oliver are going shopping tomorrow, he's says he's going to find me a nice new coat, then we'll see what happens.

Thought they would have had the work done. They've had since August.
Players should have been identified and bought at the opening of the window imo.

I'd say they probably have got a shortlist of targets. That line about working day and night to find players is one Wenger uses all the time.

United's Defence is more ****e than us...even they couldn't sign one so far...Good defenders are hard to get in January.

Maybe so but the scouting thing should have been well finished.
They should be working off a panel now.

A scouts job isn't done when he identifies a player worth getting. The scout is usually the primary point of contact between the player and club at least in the initial period. He has to hold discussions with player, managers and clubs to ensure they are all happy to move forward with official talks. Thats what Wenger is talking about when he says the scouts are still working.

You'll also remember that Wenger said Ozil became available only shortly before we bought him, scouts need to stay on the look out for things like that.
