Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pipe down you! If it's an old game nobody wants to pay more than a tenner.😂

I remember reading great reviews when it came out on Wii. Kept meaning to get my hands on it, but never did.

So I'm happy enough to see that, yep.

(Although the 9 years ago bit makes me feel a bit sick).

Think this will be my 1st Nintendo purchase since the Gameboy Color (still use it the odd time) Looking forward to abit of Mariocart with the family and some Zelda (never played before).

Hope they will make a good Pokemon game for it.

Stuff like this seems to get lost in the main thread, so shove it here. Release schedule for the Nintendo Switch from launch and best places to buy it. Worth noting since the Switch is region free, you can indulge in imports from US/Japan to your hearts desire. You wanna import, two reccomended sites are

Anyway, up to date as possible, though there's still 6 weeks to go till launch.

My problem with that launch line up (apart from the lack of retail games) is well, they're available on other consoles. For much less. Nintendo doesn't seem like its compelling me to buy them for the Switch. Binding Of Issac was given away on PS+ already, for example, and half of them have been discounted or free on PS+/XBL/Steam whatever.

I dunno, we'll see. You could make the same argument for the endless stream of remasters we've been treated to this generation and quite a few of them have turned out well.

In semi-defense of Binding of Isaac, its Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+, which was released on January 3rd, and it includes all previous content, and is the first time BoI has been made available physically. (in the US at least, no word yet on if we're getting a physical version)

True. But I'm sure its all been on steam before for a fraction of €40. You could probably say that about any multiplatform game though.

I'd love to buy Binding of Isaac for the Switch, despite having it on the PS4 and Vita.
It's possibly going to do a CaveStory 3D and be a relatively limited and soon to be expensive physical release.
I am hesitant to bring it in from the US due to taxes and customs.

But can you play it while having a **** on the loo on a gaming pc ?.

    I think not ;)

Yeah, Vita remote play is a thing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,678 ✭✭✭TrustedApple

Yeah, Vita remote play is a thing.

Sadly now the Vita screen is smaller then my phone ;). So a 7 inch tablet on the loo with rumble feedback ;).

I really still get over everyone forgetting that the Vita cost the same when it came out 5 years ago .....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

I dunno, the idea of HD rumble feedback while sitting on the loo just sounds like a recipe for disaster. I expect after 6 months Nintendo will have to do a safety release, like they did on the Wii - instead of a wrist band, maybe some sort of an anal valve that stops your intestines from being shaken out of you during extended play sessions?

RE: cost of the Vita - but no one bought the Vita....

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

    I bought a vita :( Haven't played it since 2015, but still.

Several people have been told by different Gamestop's that launch day games are getting low allocations and its best to pre order. Obviously Gamestop would say that, but it might be worth pre ordering anyway, specially for midnight launches.

Was told the same this morning when went into pay more on the Switch. I was also shown a list of accessories and I mentioned about the 20%, he hadn't a clue what I was talking about. I'm pretty sure it's only a selected few 3rd party ones though, despite some being told different. I think the staff in the store may be getting mixed up with showing the list to plug accessories and it being a list for the 20%, or something along those lines.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I'd a missed call from them yesterday, and couldn't get through when I got a chance to call back. Just got them on the phone, and it was to inform people about low allocations of games/accessories, so to let people know that they may be better off pre-ordering accessories if they wanted any.

Note sure if this has been posted already, TumbleSeed. Looks promising once they don't force motion controls in the Switch version (and the price is decent ofc).

Looking back at previous posts in here and seeing Stardew Valley being mentioned - that game would be a brilliant fit for the Switch.

Cool, so that means that the eShop will have to be up and running on day one.
It'll be interesting if there's a discount for people who already own it....

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

I'd like to buy 1-2 switch at launch, just as a second game and mainly to show off the system a bit better than Zelda might, but I just know it'll go cheap after launch which is annoying.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,191 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Zelda day one then nothing for me until Mario Kart, luv Bomberman for as long as I can remember megadrive kangaroo being a stand out but not willing to fork out €60+ for it on switch.

Definitely be one I'll pick up, in physical form if possible.

Good value for the upcoming Redout, on Switch.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZ9ELHN/
It's $35.47 from Amazon Prime in the States, no word on a date from the UK Amazon site though link

I really like the look of this one, an enhanced version of the Steam game.
It seems to be distributed by 505 Games on the XB1, PS4 and Switch, so hopefully we'll have a date for Europe soon.

Ultimate Chicken Horse is coming to Console!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8vG_yP3yvg

"We are proud and super excited to officially announce that Ultimate Chicken Horse will be coming to XboxOne, PS4 and Nintendo Switch! We are aiming to launch during the Summer of 2017."

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Four-player competitive DIY platformer Ultimate Chicken Horse is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One in Q3 2017, developer Clever Endeavour Games has revealed to Eurogamer.

For the uninitiated, Ultimate Chicken Horse is a 2D game where up to four players place platforms, traps, and other generally hazardous objects into a scene then see who among them can still make it to the finish line. After each round more player-set traps are added with the idea being to make the stage hard enough that your rivals can't complete it, yet easy enough that you can.
The console edition of Ultimate Chicken Horse will introduce a new extension to Free Play mode that allows players to create their own levels from scratch rather than simply place objects into existing terrain.

I'm definitely going to buy 1,2 Switch.
While it would have made a great pack in there's enough multiplayer gaming with my son and between he and his friends that will mean it'll get played.
I was trying to decide on a game Vs a controller, in addition to the console, BotW and Binding of Isaac (from Canada) and while a controller would be grand I'm thinking it'll wait until Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and even then for two player laughs the current single controller has that covered.
Plus, there's the hope that the WiiU Pro Controller might be made compatible with a future update... Here's hoping.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already but the soundtrack for Snake Pass, due for release Q1 sometime, is done by none other than David Wise. His DKC soundtracks are still some of the best around.

THE BINDING OF ISAAC: AFTERBIRTH+ for NINTENDO SWITCH
For those of you who have pre-ordered already you may have noticed your order shifted date. We were unable to confirm the revised release date until now (due to issues way beyond our control), but can confirm that the Release Date for The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Nintendo Switch has been pushed back. It’s still March, but we won’t make 3.3 (insert sad face here)

Anyone else find the irony of the subtitle afterbirth+ now that it won't be a launch title, we won't get the game until after the birth of the switch. rainier wolfcastle that's the joke gif be most welcome here me thinks.

Any word on demos or trials for games yet?

The placenta always comes a little while after the main event... Just have to wait a little while, make sure you get all of it, otherwise the new mother can go into toxic shock...
Ha, wait, the joke... very good....

Actually, I suspect the desire to include the physical goodies might have generated the delay tbh, the physical games must be already made and ready to rock at this point.
    Maybe it's an eshop issue.
