company collecting waste and recycle bin together

Hi all. As the title says, my waste company collects the bins (waste and recycle) together every fortnight in the same lorry. I know the same company in another area collects the bins separate, alternating weekly. I feel annoyed making the effort of washing out cartons, separating things just to be all lumped together.…

Hi all. As the title says, my waste company collects the bins (waste and recycle) together every fortnight in the same lorry. I know the same company in another area collects the bins separate, alternating weekly. I feel annoyed making the effort of washing out cartons, separating things just to be all lumped together. Should I contact some body about this and if so, who?

a lot of the modern trucks have twin sealed compartments so to collect both and keep separate to cut down costs these days. they would be then emptied in separate bays in a transfer station.
