Because more than any other entity the WRU want to sweat their asset, full house Saturday and a bumper extra match or two when the other countries are playing off in October. That stadium sees some use.

I see I jumped the gun here

Good thing I've a backlog/archive of older Leinster/Munster/Ireland games on my hard drive to rewatch. Back to the glory days.

I imagine thats what you'll find in HD on the sports channels too.

Actually, must cancel my subscriptions, no point paying to packages for **** all.

Has British exceptionalism extended to the point where they believe a bit of blitz spirit will put a stop to this virus business?

Must be very frustrating for people who have travelled or taken a day off.

    Was thinking this myself.

For all the talk of postponing competitions to April/May, I reckon it will be the summer before sport returns, that's a lot of subscription money for zero return.

My rugby team landed in Wales this morning...my work had already forbidden me to go, but I feel a bit sorry for the lads.

Good point. No reason for Eir sports if there's no Pro 14. I'll keep Sky though because there's still Super Rugby. For now.

Anyone got picks for the team of the tournament, albeit, a shortened affair?

    Mostly France and English players

Maybe Ryan from ireland, Conway as well

Nobody else really....Larmour was good at 15 but not team of tournament

I'm finding it hard to remember, tbh, but from Ireland, Stander deserves a shout as well but that's probably about it.

Ntamack and Dupont for the half-backs. Ollivon and Alldritt. Itoje. Maybe Tompkins from Wales?

Stander does deserve mention but I dont think he would get the 8 jersey.

There's no Irish player in the running for team of the tournament imo. I thought Conway has put in our single best performance against Wales but nobody else is in the conversation for me.

Aldritt by a distance, despite Stander's two MOTM awards.

    Is the 2020 6N cancelled?

Proposals for 8 Nations tournament (Nov 14-Dec 5) are supposedly as follows:
    Grp 1
    Eng, Wal, Ireland & FIJI
    Grp 2
    France, Sco, Italy and JAPAN

    Three pool games each, then a play-off round 1st v 1st, 2nd v 2nd etc.
Ireland home v Wal, Fij, away to England.

Would have liked another crack at Japan

The 2020 tournament is due to be finished on the 24th and 31st of October. These games are to replace the Autumn internationals and the 2021 tournament is due to go ahead on the previously published dates.

Surely these groups are a little.... Unbalanced.

I actually havent seen any of those proposed dates for the remainder of 6N anywhere. I saw Laporte saying that Fra v Ireland is scheduled for the 31st Oct.

Nothing has been officially confirmed, but the Indo (and other sources) had these dates last week.

I was thinking that myself...either ourselves or Wales should be swapped into the other pool to balance them out...but I suppose the powers that be would always want to guarentee and England Wales meeting.

To be fair I don't think balance comes into it. It will.just be good to get some games back...although the way things are going I'll believe it when the anthems are being played!
