Non Polarized sunglasses

I bought a pair of Bolle non polarized sunglasses last summer, no prescription just standard. The advice from the optitian I dealt with I dealt with that polarization was only really necessary if you use them for driving, which I won’t be. Since then I’ve doubted that advice both from things I have read and people I know…

Since then I’ve doubted that advice both from things I have read and people I know who have bought glasses. So just looking for some opinions here.
