real model engine

Hi Guys
just wondering is anyone knows where i could purchase a real model engine kit.... not a plastic kit , something that is miniature real life engine,
either petrol driven or steam.....i have searched the internet and can only find plastic imitations of stuff that's more or less built . really looking for something that a bit of challenge the only thing is we do not have any machinery to build any of the parts.
it can be any type of engine , car, plane, train, steam, really what i want is the young lad(well not so young) is to understand the technology behind it all

Get a small engine and have an engineering shop do a cutaway on it.

Or else get an old generator or cement mixer engine and clean it out and dismantle it so they can put it together and see how it works.

There seem to be plenty of steam engine kits available, but most are aimed at the model engineer, who would possess machining skills and equipment. What you need to look for is a "machined" kit, also referred to as a "milled casting Kit", like this:

How about a nitro model engine? They're readily available, reasonably cheap, simple with very few moving parts and compact.

Or a four stroke lawnmower engine, or 2 stroke brush cutter?

I have a set of castings for a model steam engine [1960] still in origional packing, dont know the kit no. but can check if u are interested.
