Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Did we waste Tim Berners-Lee's moment of brilliance with donkey porn, cat videos, angry baby memes, hate talk and 99% of discussion board posts? Or has it made us all better people with the dissemination of knowledge wider and faster than could have ever been imagined a few generations ago?

    It's been a mixed blessing - I'm sure I'd be a much more productive person without it and have better eyesight.
