    Amazon prime €36 a year
    YouTube premium €11 a month
    Apple Music -€9 a month

    Apple iCloud - €3 a month
Sky broadband and tv who I absolutely detest but the missus has to have her tv. - about €1440 a year.
    Netflix. -€45 a year

I plan on dumping sky later in the year and to hell with the missus.

Have you tried YouTube Premium with YouTube Music for €15 a month instead of paying for Apple Music separately? I found YouTube Music as good as iTunes (is that the same as Apple Music?), you’d save yourself €60 a year anyway, or about half a months sub for Sky services.

I didn’t include the Sky tv and broadband in my first reply in the thread, but I only pay for the tv and my employer pays for the broadband. I find Sky Q overall is much better than the usual streaming/IPTV services. Sure, it’s about €50 a month, but it’s just the convenience of it more than anything, and the quality of it as opposed to the alternatives makes it worthwhile - the mini-boxes acting as wireless access points means there are no WiFi dead zones in the apartment any more either, that used drive me bananas!

We have Sky Sports/BT/Sky Movies through my job for nothing.

Just netflix and I only got that for the Marvel content. Most of which was very well done but has been cancelled anyway. So I think I will be cancelling Netflix myself soon too.

Have considered the Spotify family package now as my daugther reaches the age she is starting to be interested in music.

    Virgin Media
    Netflix
    NFL Gamepass
    NBA Leaguepass
    The Athletic
    Xbox Live
    EA Access

And then a few newspapers free at work

Virgin who seem to raise their prices every few months -I keep phoning them & insisting on (& getting) a loyalty reduction (well worth doing & nagging them for)

A(bricks & mortar) sports club where I go & then we all watch their subscription packages on bigscreen for sports/matches while availing of their subsidied bar. Not too bad.

Frèe papers at work -which is now mostly 2 day old internet news. Lazy writing & straight from press releases 'reporting' . Makes you wonder how they all exactly & almost word for word the same articles & content.

Cancelled netflix & sportify as I spent all day on them & I needed my life back. After a few weeks I didnt notice or miss them anymore.

Considered a few of these personal lifestyle /coaching subscriptions but afraid I would get bombarded with requests/ads. Does nobody else sogn up for subscription health /training /life coaching ???

I have a lot of FREE subscriptions which I keep & enjoy - online education courses, articles delivered free from sites, etc I guess they dont count?

Not talking about your basic bills - Electricity, Internet, Mobile, Food. But subscriptions that you pay over for monthly mainly for entertainment.

    I'm at 4.
    - Netflix
    - PlayStation Plus (paid yearly for a discount)
    - Sports Podcast
    - YouTuber my child likes

I had to cop myself on and move all subscriptions to my 2nd current account as things started getting a bit silly. Had to axe Amazon Prime and Fight Pass as I was about to add Eir/BT Sport without thinking of how much they all added up to per month. Am lucky that I can use Sky Sports through the Sky Go app on my TV at no additional cost.

We are in the age of the monthly subscription. :D

Netflix, Xbox Live, Amazon Music, and Amazon Prime

    Sky basic
    Netflix
Google Drive (only 6 euro per year)
    Google play music Family

Recently culled my subs, had too many. Got rid of
    nest,
    Prime (bought too much)
    Sky sports & Movies
A patreon (Gona put this back, feel like I 2ant to support the podcaster)
    PSN

Going to add Eurosport for the summer and Nintendo Switch online.

These small subs are so easy to add and forget about!

I suppose I’m too used to apple music/Spotify and don’t really want to be messing with 2 apps as there’s some music I have that’s not on there.
Also I’ve lost some YouTube clips as the channel owners deleted them etc.

We've an Amiko box - once of payment, all the free channels. Its enough!! Netflix is ok, though no Game of Thrones

Netflix (which I'll be cancelling soon) and DAZN

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Amazon Prime

I do find this actually saves me money in the long run on shipping and discounts so a net benefit rather than drain.

    Netflix
2 gym memberships (one near work, one near home)
NowTV but I intend to cancel that in May.

IPTV and Xbox live for the young lad.
Ditched Sky/BT some years ago so FTA/IPTV and a couple of streaming apps do me.
I don't bother with Netflix as I've barely enough time to watch half the stuff I want as it is plus the app I have contains all the Netflix stuff anyway.

I keep Netflix because its SO cheap - I barely notice the monthly cost.

Ive been busy doing other things than watching tv recently and I hadnt really looked at Netflix in ages. I logged in last weekend and it was like a brand new app with all new content just because it was so long since Id really used it.

Theyre clever keeping it so cheap.

I have NowTV but at 15 euro per month, less content and a slower/less user friendly interface, Im just waiting for GoT to be finished to cancel it. But if it was only 5 or 6 quid a month - Id keep it.

    Just Netflix.

Excellent service at a fair price.

    Spotify family
    Audible premium
    Office 365
IPTV sub (10er a month for basically every channel in the world you would want).

Have access to a Netflix account also from a family member and they have a connection to my Spotify family account in return.

IPTV sub (10er a month for basically every channel in the world you would want).

    Can I ask about this?

Is it an app - like can you have it on a SmartTV or is it through a computer?

Is it legal? (as in - is it legit or is it like Showbox/Popcorn?).

Is it only live streamed content?

Does it have Game of Thrones?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,767 ✭✭✭893bet

    Nespresso 50 pm
Spotify family boards account 30 per year if I recall
    Netflix 14 pm

    Plus sky, mobile, internet etc

You can get it in different ways depending on your device. Can be app, can run it in kodi etc. I run it on a Linux satellite receiver.

I’m sure you can guess yourself about the legality of it, you are getting hundreds of euro worth of channels for a few euro a month....

There are box sets and movies but I don’t use then as I prefer to torrent these. It would have game of thrones yes. I

I'm more of a reader than a TV / Netflix guy but I manage to spend a bomb anyway

    Irish Times
Financial Times (work cover this thankfully, it's €50 a month for digital only access)
    New York Times
    Economist
    Time
    Gym
Audible premium (one audiobook a month for a tenner)
    Spotify
Also can't wait until Apple News+ is available here I'll be all over it.

I think it's sad that the internet has made free news so widely available that people are no longer willing to pay pretty nominal amounts for access to quality independent journalism. It's not free to produce so if it's free at the point of consumption you can rest assured someone else is paying for it, and you can assume they have a reason.
