Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I'm doing remote work for a Dutchie as an overseas contractor.

    Irish law doesn't allow zero-hours contracts.

    Dutch law kinda does (though with some protections for the worker).

    So whose law applies here?

    Are contractors protected from zero hours? I thought they were considered self employed?

    I can't link URLs because my account is new but look up zero-hours contracts on citizensinformation dot ie

    Basically they have to guarantee a minimum of 15 hours

    Anyway, Dutch law or Irish?

    The intro on that site starts with "A zero-hours contract of employment applies where you (the employee) are available for work but your hours of work are not specified under your employment contract."

    If you are a contractorand not an employee, it doesn't apply.

    Are you an employee or self employed?

    It is not written anywhere. It depends on where the contract was made.
