Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CGT losses upon death

so there is no CGT on death.

do any CGT losses pass to spouse upon death or are those lost?

if 1 spouse remains and passes, do any CGT losses pass to next of kin? if yes, would that trigger possible CAT?

i'm guessing any losses are gone upon death cos it could get complicated otherwise.

    TIA

Interesting question actually. I don’t believe they do on the basis an individual can only use their spouse’s capital losses if they have insufficient losses themselves and are married and living together but am open to correction on that. Technically speaking capital losses accrue to an individual rather than a couple.
