Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For private ante natal every Consultant charges different rates. You need to ring their secretary and find out their days and rates.
There are some Consultants there that charge more than €4k so €3,800 isn’t the highest!!
You will see your consultant at every appointment unless they are on holidays. Your consultant will be called as soon as you arrive in hospital at any stage. Your consultant will be there when you are in labour unless they are on holidays. If so you will have another consultant.
You will get a private/semi p room afterwards if available. Your consultant will visit you every day that you are in hospital and you will go to them for your 6 week check.

    No experience with semi private.

Why do you think private is cheaper? The link you posted for private says:

“Fees range from €3,000 to €3,900 for your chosen consultant. Some consultants offer a discount if you have attended them for a previous delivery.”

Semi private is a fraction of the cost of private.

    I suggest you ring OP.

However...semi-private in the Rotunda is about 1100eur.You pay it after your first appointment, around 12 weeks. That includes everyhing, midwife and consultant visits at each appointment (you may see a different consultant each time, depending on how you book it -what days)...all scans (mini scans at each apptmt and a 20 week anomaly scan), blood tests, the works. It does not include the Harmony /NIPT test, which is an extra cost.

Semi-private means that you will not have the consultant you have been seeing in the room for the birth, you will give birth with whatever staff are on-call in delivery when you go in.You will be in the semi-private rooms afterwards.Private, your consultant will attend the birth (or arrange for someone to be there if they cannot). You will get a private room afterwards, as soon as there is one available.

Private fees are 3500 - 4000eur....ring the clinic to find out. Each consultant may have slightly different costs.

Fundamentally, you will give birth in the same labour and delivery suites with the same staff attending, as every patient in the Rotunda. The fees are for having appointments in a different building (and if private, seeing the same doctor each visit), and the rooms afterwards.I went semi-p in the Rotunda on all 3, it worked fine.Gave birth with midwives in attendance each time, no doctor needed til afterwards, and they all did a great job.It is very much personal preference.
