    It's been a good race so far. Pity about Alonso, had been looking forward to see how well he'd run.

    Very impressive by Paganaud to have a spare wheel/seat ready to go and to know how to swap it in quickly when his primary wheel had a problem.

    Been watching it throughout the day. Very good. Battle for the lead is pretty epic. Not too impressed that they gifted alonso's car 70 odd lap though.

    To be fair it wasn't Alonso's fault. It's a flaw in the process that being in the pits when issued a stop/go turns that stop into the stop/go and prevents refueling.

    He only got that penalty for stupidly running into a GT, so little sympathy. Anyway, "now we can fight" i suppose :) Paganaud quick "repair" earlier was very impressive alright. i think redline will eventually win it. Their driver line up is just ridiculous, they'll grind it out but just running at the ultimate pace for every stint. The other teams all seem to have a least 1 small chink in the armor when it comes to the driver line up.

    That's the traditional Saturday night concert. Don't know why they're interrupting the stream of the race with it though.

    All over. Last couple of hours were very interesting with 3 cars fighting for the win. Poor Leclerc had a mare. Very enjoyable overall. Probably the only time we'll ever see something like this with so many real world drivers taking part.

    Actually stayed up to watch most of the race. Really great production and some solid racing, despite some of the technical mishaps. Would have loved to see Max and Lando finish the race. Found it as exciting as the real thing.

    LMP1 looks like a repeat of last year's. Didn't see the rules. Hopefully lack of running will throw in a few surprises
    Nobody's going to spend money on development when new rules are coming. Hopefully the hypercars will attract the big manufacturers. Could be why Mercedes are rumoured to be scaling back on F1

    There's no BoP in LMP1 for Le Mans.

    With the cost cap coming in F1 the big teams will have a lot of staff to sack or redeploy, so WEC/IMSA will look like a good option to them. LMDh is looking more popular than Hypercar though.

    But hypercars should be more popular than LMP1. If they can get 3 or 4 competitive teams in hypercars then that's a success.

    Do you guys have high hopes for the LMDh/Hypercar rules?? I've lost track of the development of these rules to be honest. It's a shame to see the current LMP1 field with Toyota walking it in recent years. The racing in IMSA has been great though, I hope that the WEC can replicate that kind of competitive racing at the front of the field.

    There seemed to be a lot of interest in hypercars before the pandemic. I seen somewhere that a couple of teams stopped their programmes.
    I think it'll more come down to engine rules. The thinking was that the 2022 rules pushed towards hydrogen power giving the best advantage. If manufacturers see hydrogen as the future in road cars then they'll invest in WEC in a big way (assuming F1 stays as it is).
