My stove is struggling to keep a light in Dublin here.

Has the worst passed north Donegal?

Seems to be relatively normal out there at 530pm?

Definitely was windier earlier and a lot wetter.

Roughest it has been all day now in SW Donegal

High up here on the KK/Laois border, rain starting up and wind is a constant noise but not too bad at all.

Just back from walking the dog along the shore. The rain feels like sleet & really stings. There a few gusts going well into Orange. One nearly blew me off my feet & that's no easy task :)

Bella owes me an umbrella. Well, it wasn't the greatest idea going out with one in the first place.

Gusty and rainy here in Celbridge.

Looks like the South East finally about to get a bit of rain. Gusty and very wet in South West Laois, but nothing out of the ordinary so far. The wind forecast shows it abating around midnight.

TV blipped, wondering did Mullaghanish go to back up generation?

Just back from a walk. It's certainly windy but not excessively so. Typical of a winter storm. The trees having no leaves which makes a big difference.
There seems to be a lot of rain though. Galway.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Plenty of rain here in North County Dublin but not too windy here.

Not pleasant in Letterkenny at the moment, but nothing crazy.

Yeah that was surprising. Belmullet only registered an 85 km/h gust in the same hour.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Winds have certainly picked up a bit from earlier, some pretty hefty gusts now. Kind of surprised the power is still on!

Nasty enough here in East Limerick City, heavy gusts, walls of rain, a bit squally. Rainwater is being forced under the back door and actually through the back door. Yaay for antiquated 1981 construction standards. I'll be glad when the wind eases a bit, I can then get the bins out seeing as there was no collection Christmas Day.

I'm glad that I reduced the height my Hexbeam ham radio antenna was at. It would easily have withstood, but never any harm in being cautious when the forecast is on the border of the orange warning. Orange warnings are my personal cue to show how portable and temporary the antennas actually are by removing them for the duration of the breeze. At least with that antenna at a lower height it can't fall far if it does fall over. The other antenna will withstand 130kph winds without a worry so it's up and in use this evening.

It is just another typical Atlantic sub-storm, but still not one I would like to be away from shelter in.

The wind changed? I have been blissfully asleep; ill abed of late and was roused by the place shaking... the noise is quite different now. Rain is loud against the north facing back and not the side windows. And the roof is rattling.

Very loud. And the banshee has arrived..

My oceanfaring neighbours were right... a nasty one. but better tonight than yesterday
