Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    %ppv

    What % did you use to work that out? From where?
    I'm pretty sure its a sliding scale similar to above.

    $1 for each "buy" between 200,000 and 400,000 buys, $2 per buy between 400,000 and 600,000 buys, and $2.50 per buy over 600,000 buys.
    Using that as an example, a 750k buyrate event. Would be worth just under $1million.

    Zuffa posted Couture's PPV deal online during their dispute. It was something like;
    $1 per buy on buys 100,000 through 175,000, $1.50 on buys 175,000 through 300,000, $2 on buys 300,000 through 330,000, and $3 per buy on buys over 330,000.
    So that's significantly better. On 750k buys its worth just under $1.6mil

    Still no way Chael made $8M from the Silva fight.

    Let's assume that Chael has a similar deal as Alvarez was offered and the second Silva fight broke 1M buys (as initially reported, later reported as around 900k).

    $50k basic
    $200k (buys between 200k & 400k)
    $400k (buys between 400k & 600k)
    $1M (buys between 600k & 1M)

    That gives him $1.65M. Now unless Chael's agent is an even better bullshltter than he is and managed to negotiate $6.5M in sponsorship, Chael hasn't made $8M from any fight in his life.

    Brock Lesnar reportedly made about $5M from UFC 100 but bear in mind that he had a $400k basic pay, probably a better PPV cut than Sonnen or Alvarez, better sponsorship deals plus UFC 100 did a reported 1.6M buys.

    This is all assuming that Sonnen does indeed have a PPV cut contract. Last time he won a fight (Bisping) he earned $50k plus $50k win bonus. Fighters on a PPV contract don't usually get a win bonus, just basic pay plus PPV cut.

    Edit, Mellor beat me to it...
