There's no Germany in a semi final en route to stop them this time.

If England can stay tight and organised at the back whilst continuing to pose a quite impressive set piece threat, then its not impossible. It’s unlikely of course but stranger things have happened in football.

Sweden on Saturday will be tough game. They’re so well drilled and incredibly industrious, but they don’t have the same attacking talent as Colombia and they don’t have the raw power of Davinson Sanchez and Yery Mina at the back.

I think England will nick it by a single goal inside the 90 minutes.

Eng to lift the soccerball cup, are the same odds as Swe (just to win this, their next game).

That just shows the 'price disortion' going on due to 'volume' of interest.
They're showing as 3rd fav outright, so realistically about 5/6th.

Croatia are a very hit and miss team. They always seem to have a terrible game in them which would stop me from placing any money on them. I think England and Croatia would be a 50/50 game if they met. England do seem to have a bit of luck on their side this time around and even though I think they are an average side this is usually a big factor in tournaments.

One could argue I suppose that Croatia, who played horribly against Denmark, got lucky in the event of a penalty shootout as well.

Perhaps Croatia have had their bad game out of the way and now somehow got through it surely couldn't play any worse again?

All England have two do is win two matches against teams that are decent but nothing amazing. Hardly that unlikely, i'd give them a 40% chance of reaching the final. Would love to see them win the world cup.

They can peak yet. I hope England can go on and give the tournament a good lash.

The Blegium game is in no way indicative of anything, apart from there being a marginal difference between two teams who never played together before and won't do so again.

Pointing at that game as a slight on England is stupid.

A lack of quality in reserve does matter funnily enough!

To point, the point being they'll only field 4 at most in a given game, not 8 from the start like the Belgium game.

You'd swear England were a tiny minnow the way people are painting the narrative. If England don't get to the final now they have ****ed up big time. All pressure should be on them like it would be on any big country.

I'd have them slightly behind Croatia, (mainly on the Croats extra quality in midfield), but not much. Kind of expecting them to beat Sweden, but again I expect it to be close, and dour, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it went the other way. It's certainly not as outrageous a proposition as it seemed pre tournament to suggest they'll reach the final.

You would think overall though, at this stage that the winner will come from Brazil, France or Belgium. If I was putting money down I think it would have to be Brazil. (Awaits inevitable Belgian victory this evening)

Recovery could come into play here. Kane looked like he was about to fall down during extra time the other day and if Vardy is injured who knows where England are at.

Have to agree with poster above , Kane was out on his feet towards the end and I was actually fearful of him taking his penalty kick, was great to see them beat the cynical cheating Colombians in the end. Will be tough for England but would like to see them get through.
