Basically play emulators of your favourite retro consoles in a virtual bedroom in VR with proper CRT monitors that have that old fashioned scanline look. It's free too.

That looks cool, actually fairly similar to the Megadrive Classics environment.

I have New Retro Arcade Neon on SteamVR which is probably my favourite way to play Mame and arcade games like that, but I'll give EmuVR a shot!

You can use either but at the moment the quality and performance is better with virtual desktop(provided you have a good connection). I found it to be too much faffing though myself so went back to using the cable.

Thief Simulator looks like it could be great fun altogether, have had my eye on it since it’s development.

Ultimate Fishing VR looks good too but seems to borrow a lot from Real Fishing VR.

You can do ice fishing Eskimo style and deep sea fishing, can walk around environments or drive boats.

Seems they made it a bit awkward and we need to contact their support with proof of purchase... Hopefully they streamline it a bit next week

Opening a case is a bit glitchy. No complaints on the actual customer support though. I got an email quickly asking me to confirm the number on the headset and when I activated the Quest 2. Email the following day to tell me that game was added to my account.

Is it straightforward to get the number on the headset or does it involve snapping off the headband or something?

You say "snapping", I say "gently peeling". :P Oculus support said that it was on right hand side, but on mine it was the left hand side. I had to look at a jpeg of this as I couldn't actually visualise what I was supposed to do.

The number is on the cardboard box if you have that lying around?

Oculus didn't suggest using the mobile app, but I noticed afterwards that its also in that..which I would have seen as the far less risky way of checking!

(Open app ==> settings and 14 digits written at top next to Oculus Quest 2)

cool... don't want to mess with the strap unless I'm actually changing it, might get stretched or maybe I have a brittle bit

Weirdly enough I'm actually ok with the cloth strap... one in a million I guess

Got my free copy of Asgard's Wrath today... was very straightforward they just needed:

- Serial number (I got it from the box)
- Oculus username (found in the app)
- Copy of invoice from Amazon

Then just say "I confirm I have a link cable and compatible computer for Quest 2"

Got it within 10 minutes... from what I can tell in the T&Cs it's necessary to redeem and install the game, so I've gotta somehow find 130GB free space on my laptop!

Fanatical are currently offering two VR bundles, 'Platinum VR' with 3 tiers, and 'Nitro' for a fiver. The Nitro one isn't billed as VR, but it has Redout, Grip & Project Cars in it. It's the cheapest the Redout & DLC collection has been by a long way.

It appears the game is buggy as hell on the quest 2.
No idea if they plan to update it.
