The Ireland Ticket Thread (Euro 2020 Qualifiers/Nations League & Friendlies)

Can anyone tell me how to get match tickets for Ireland away games other than travel agents as I have never been to an away game and am looking to go to 1 of the qualifiers at the end of the year with the boys and have been lumbered with the responsibility of trying to organise it.

Thanks

Contact the FAI, they have application forms to apply for away tickets a few months beforehand and it goes to a ballot. Preference is given to people who regularly go to away games, season ticket holders etc.

Hello from Germany,

Ireland is playing Germany in "our" stadium in October
Its a qualifier for Euro2016 in France.
In Veltins Arena Gelsenkirchen
date tuesday 14.10.2014, at 20.45 Uhr local.

You can get tickets via DFB.de (German Football Association)
and we also got tickets via our club website last time
Perhaps this time too its not yet confirmed.
Check our clubs website from time to time Schalke04.de

When you got any questions about travelling to Gelsenkirchen
How to get tickets ,accomodation and so on feel free to ask anytime here.

Did the German FA not block Irish postal address with this before? I seem to recall them doing so.

Hey Schalker...
Grüsse von ein Ire aus Essen...

The DFB will not send tickets to Irish passport holders for this one nor can they sell tickets for the away block. You will have to use the FAI Away ticket service. Based on the game last year tickets for the Irish end shouldnt be a problem.

If you lads are travelling over and are using early flights back with Ryanair from Weeze please book a hotel in Essen and book the shuttle bus online or by phone from Essen (if you need help send me a pm and i will give you tips). Gelsenkirchen is not serviced on this route and its a pain in the bum to get to Essen from Gelsenkirchen that early in the morning for the bus. Otherwise you face an expensive taxi trip to get your flight.

@Schalker what can the fans do in GE in the run up (Monday night) or after the game??? Any party zones or bar strips to cater for the fans late into the night??? Anything like Rüttenscheider Strasse/Bemudadreieck/Dus Altstadt???
Heard of a group of fans being told that GE has a wonderful nightlife. As i have heard from workmates most people tend to come to Essen for a night out.

Fai.ie

Not sure the Irish allocation is known yet, so it all depends how many tickets we get, and how many apply

You should try to email fai away ticket portal or phone the FAI and ask to be connect to the ticket office. Ticket application for online applications is closed since 31 July.......but i am sure the FAI may be able to help you if you get onto them.

Go to the FAI ticket portal and set up an account. The deadline for the first 3 aways is closed now but you will get tickets for most games if you contact FAI .Germany and Georgia games will be handy to get tickets for as we won't sell the allocation.

The German DFB are putting tickets for this on public sale this coming Monday at 10am. You will however need a German address for ticket delivery as it is forbidden to sell tickets to fans of the opposition or to deliver to an Irish address in this case.

Why would a Irish fan bother buying tickets in the German section, there will be no problem getting tickets in the Irish end.
