Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Borrowed it from a mate. Remember holding it in a changing room in our school and had no idea what I was about to experience.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

    Worrying news.
Nemesis can break into Safe rooms

I avoided this spoiler here, but every bloody gaming site is using it as a headline anyway.

However.... it's apparently not entirely true, according to Capcom.

I hope it's not because that's a load of bull**** IMO
Res Evil had safe rooms for a reason. Bad enough you have Mr. X chasing you around everywhere in RE 2 Remake. Now Nemesis chases you into the one room you are supposed to get a break!

And those websites are bolox, they should not be posting that. It's a spoiler.
And unrelated to the original game.
If they want to spoil the original then go ahead. This is a re-imagining of the original same as RE2 Remake, so they should not be posting it.

Here's the clarification as explained on DSOG. Sounds fair enough.

I think it will be very frustrating if rumours are true.

These have to be the most tempting spoiler tags of all time ever!

Yeah, absolutely loved it back in the day. Can't wait for this although it's dissapointing that their will be no Mercenaries mode. I know it's because of the resistance mode but I would of preferred Mercenaries.

I watched RKG playing Resistance. Looked surprisingly good. A kind of combination if mercenaries and raid mode.

Are the quick decisions still in it or not? Think there were about 10 to be made in the original

  • Registered Users Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

Confirmed there isn't,no multiple endings either.Has me worried tbh that the main games gonna be very short on account of resistance being included.

I hope this isn't the case, resident evil 7 really suffered for it's shortness imo

In fairness the original could be done in around 7 hours, it was a short game to begin with but that is the case for the majority games in the series as most can be completed in less than 10 hours.

  • Registered Users Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

I guess it's more the fact that if it's short and has no diversity in how the story plays out I'll just see it as a disappointment in regards to a lack of replayability.

Hopefully it has a madhouse mode like resi 7 to shake things up, it really madebit worth going back to ot for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,917 ✭✭✭nix

All Resident evil games are short, it just takes longer than necessary on your first play through as you're blindly exploring, a second play through will take you half the time or less.

Anyone know how gamestop does pre order stuff? Do they just give you the dlc code on the day of release?

Should get a code with the pre order, I'd imagine it will be on sale for a fiver when the games out aswell

Well I only ask because if it comes when you pre order couldnt one just pre order to get the code and then just cancel the pre order?

  • Registered Users Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

Well when i pre ordered death stranding it was printed on the receipt, although i did pay in full,so may you will only get the code when you pay in full

Fair enough. I'd rather buy it in Smyths but they don't seem to be offering the pre-order dlc.

Yeah they always just sent me a mail with the code on release.

No. Even though I had RE2 and liked the idea of RE3, never got around to getting it. But it's RE2Remake that has me more hyped for this than anything else, my definite game of the year for 2019. If this can hit even nearly the same heights, I'm all in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,904 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

I played 3 when it first came out as i was in love with the series from 1 & 2. As great as 3 was, i have very little memory of it. Well probably be for the best so Remake 3 won't be as familiar to me. Cannot wait for this!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

3 and 6 are the only main series games I've not yet played... and RE2 remake has me really hyped for this one!

About half an hour of footage here:

For anyone interested in the Gamestop route, you can get it for 30 when you trade one of these games.

Playing this now,i think headshots are actually worth going for now they seem to do damage instead of just adding a bit of crit chance to each shot either that or crit chance is up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,805 ✭✭✭Evade

Nemesis is a lot tougher than Mr. X.

    Noooooooooooooo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,805 ✭✭✭Evade

As it turns out he's not quite as tough as I thought but I'd still say tougher than Mr. X. I was used to playing RE2, I only finished it a few weeks ago, and RE3 has some changes. The biggest one being there's no defensive items, you get a dodge button instead, and the knife doesn't wear out. Knee capping and stabbing them while they're down still seems like the most ammo efficient way of dealing with zombies.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,304 ✭✭✭madcabbage

He's fecking brutal but i like it that way, feels very sufficating and rachets the tension. The way it should be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,354 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

I got some weird textures on the characters hair. Looked really odd but I don't know if it's due to me changing graphics settings or what.

Also is there a way to quit the game on PC? Couldn't find an option so had to Alt Tab out.

    Demo was excellent
The design of the city streets is really well done too

Tense ****ing demo. Loved the graphics and sound, really brought the zombie apocalypse to life. **** Nemesis though that jumpy bollox. I didn't think the demo would finish that quick or i would have actually used the shotgun. Full game looks to be great.

  • Registered Users Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

Spending alot of time trying to get the perfect dodge down but i just can't tell which moment in the zombie lunge i should be doing it and is it hold or press the dodge button?

How big is the download on pc?

  • Registered Users Posts: 252 ✭✭daheadonu

Was 6 and half gigs for me

Playing the demo with headphones adds to the tension.

Started downloading this last night. 20 hours!!
Switched it off and got up at 5. Downloaded in less than an hour. Must be some congestion during the evening with everyone at home due to people staying indoors.

Look forward to playing when I get home from work tonight.

Not sure I like the look of this. Mr.X made you feel helpless, which was great, but it looks like if you get the timing down you can take the piss out of Nemesis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,805 ✭✭✭Evade

You only get the M4 on easy mode so maybe that's not the best representation of how tough Nemesis is.

I'd say most people aren't going to be arsed learning to perfect dodge tbh it reminds me of the parry in dark souls, timings very specific.
