Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Smokey Landcruiser

I have a 2005 landcruiser. It's well serviced, doesn't burn a drop of oil or take any water, yet it is smokey.

Especially when I accelerate fast it will throw out what I would say is excessive smoke. But sometimes when I am simply taking off, not over accelerating or anything it will leave out a puff of black smoke.

What can I do? I've used 4 tanks of diesel with diptane mixed through it but it made no difference.

Power and diesel consumption also seem fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leak on one of the air intakes, split hose?

There doesn't seem to be any split hoses, any other suggestions?

Is there any good additive to clean out injectors etc?

I have used " LIQUI MOLY Diesel Purge " on a high mileage engine and very pleased with result's.

Remove and clean the EGR and inlet manifold. They’ll be all blocked with soot.

Thanks, I will try both over the weekend.

Is there any truth in putting a bit of petrol with a tank of diesel, allegedly it's good to clean it out??
