Better day than yesterday here though started off breezy and overcast again. That cloud has burned off and wind subsided a good bit, quite nice out.

Same as other days recently, cloudy cool breezy start, feeling raw in the onshore wind. Hoping the pattern repeats and the sun burns off the cloud again around lunchtime.

Wicklow Mountains often breaks up/dissolve cloud coming from the southwest but in this current SE regime its generating thick cloud the last week. Not just High cloud over Bray but thick cloud thanks to the Wicklow mountains. As Supercell already said, hopefully it burns off in the afternoon.

Yes, the smallest of direction changes can have such a big effect - SE winds give heaviest rain and generally cloudy/foggy conditions here (and Bray probably) SSW winds give sun and warmest fohn type conditions, a small directional change but massive local conditions change.
There is a little more to it though last few days, the prevailing lower winds are NE to Northerly however the steering (upper winds) are southerly giving convergent conditions = cloud over Dublin/North Wicklow.

Lower level wind direction as measured in Loughlinstown:

    Mostly northerly -

Steering upper level winds pushing up from the south giving convergence :

North Kildare, a thin layer of high cloud burned off in minutes. Warm sunshine now and calm. Feels like one of those morning on holidays in on the continent.

Best morning of the year so far in North Kildare. Calm with just the odd very slight breeze. Strong sun too, which is making my heat trap garden get very warm.

Mostly cloudy after a promising start. looking at the satellite images would indicate its likely to remain that way. No winds and mild enough out, gardening weather.
