Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Provisional licence expired about 8 years ago

    Hi just wondering if anyone could advise on this...

    My wifes provisional licence expired about 8 years ago. She was on her 2nd at that time but never renewed after that point.

    So It looks like if she wants to start learning to drive again she will need to do the theory test again and apply for a learner permit.

    So I was wondering does she apply for a first time permit or to renew the learner permit?

    She would of had to do a driving test to apply for a 3rd provisional licence at the time, so i'm wondering will that reset now or will she still have to do a driving test now?

    First question on the aplication form is asking if you have ever had a learner permit or provisional licence in the past in Ireland at any time.

    So if you answer yes to that could you still apply for first time learner permit?

    I think they ask the question so that they can check the validity of the LP status (as some applicants won't know) and they probably issue the new LP using the original LP number.
