Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Some would say this is bad parking. I think it takes skills.

Such a new car, must take extra spaces

  • Registered Users Posts: 264 ✭✭Seasoft

Pillars make these spaces tight. Most people are careful to keep within the lines. But not all...

That's it, dump the car there and arse away from it instead of parking in the car park across the road!

    Applegreen Celbridge, near the M4.

Of all the places to park to go to the shop, they park in the air-pump bay. They don't use said facilities, just park there whilst going to the shop. They were parked there for at least 5 minutes.

Blocking 90% of pavement at Shankill Marble place - just down the road from a home for people with dementia, and across the road from the graveyard frequented by many older people.

There were a least 2 (possibly 3) 5 to 7yo kids in it. It was open and the engine was running. She was in the shop for 3-4 minutes.

This guy has some neck. The third pic was taken about 2 weeks after the first two. In fairness, I wouldn't leave a bike in that spot. It would get robbed or driven over. No railings, just a rectangle on the tarmac.

Actual parking spaces too far away (there was about three around fifteen feet away) - no problem, sure just park alongside some bins, with double yellow lines and on a corner so that it's almost impossible for anyone coming from the lane to turn left onto the road.

There is a huge car park behind me, but wombats regularly park at the road - The White House on the N2:
    CZ20190419101939.jpg

Almost empty car park, so at least there is plenty of parking space, but a bit mean taking up 4 spots:
    CZ20190315164258.jpg

Hyundai driver nips into shop, hazards on. The VW shows what space is left for cars coming in and out. Got a few blasts of horns from people trying to swing out from the parking lane to the right. Lidl, Ashbourne.
    CZ20190410193354.jpg

    Main Street, Asbourne = Check.
Block cycle lane and half of main lane, forcing overtaking traffic far into opposite lane = Check.
Opposite a continuous white line = Check.
    Rear foglights on = Check.
Aldi car park nearby which wasn't used = Check.
    Absolute w**ker = Check

    Love Ballymote for parking.

Our old friend is back. It's parked there a lot and I've seen wardens ignoring it. Last one as it's getting stale.

I know the lines are a bit worn, but it's obviously two spots when you're pulling in.

The driver came back with a lovely looking cream cake all for himself. Hope he didn't get any on his dapper 3-piece.

It's only a small thing but really! Sunday morning and car park 90% empty. Whats more I bet when he/she reversed back out they ended up scraping the front nearside tyre off the kerb.
