Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Yeah its nuts how amazing the Jap artwork is on almost every game compared to the PAL and US!

I'm slowly working towards a collection of ntsc-j Zelda games released on cartridge. Few more to get though, but the artwork is amazing. I'll post a picture of the story so far when I get my arse off the couch.

My Everdrive N8 for the Famicom arrived today. Not happy with the blue case so will find something a bit better I think.

Also got Metroid for the FDS.

Let's know how that Everdrive works out, thinking of picking one up. What colour shell are you thinking of getting?

Will let ya know how it goes. I'll either get a nice clean game cart and install it in that or get shapeways to print me up something funky on their high end 3D printers. My 3D printer isn't good enough to print out a finished product I'd be happy to display.

I might grab this 3D model, change it a bit and get it printed.

Any examples of anything you have ordered from shapeways before? I would like to see them in the Gets thread.

You've been awfully quiet about that 3D printer too btw! :p

Not much to say about the printer really. I've had it a couple years now and use it for some of my non retro projects and general messing about. the print resolution isn't high enough for anything fancy so you need to sand down print jobs to get a fine finish to them. It's a makerbot replicator.
I'm hoping to replace it with a Form 1 later in the year if I can confirm I won't have issues getting the print material(it uses liquid rather than plastic rolls).

Not really videogame related but definitely retro related.

    10174861_10204600578957220_8810501812031853354_n.jpg

Got the red ranger delivered and have the stand from an older purchase from Dublin City Comics.

These Figuarts figures are expensive but well worth the money... they are so articulate! These are grown up big boy toys for display... or so I like to tell myself anyway.

If any of you guys are into collecting toys for display I definetely recommend that you check out the SH Figuarts line, they do plenty of videogame related stuff too.

    Like this Mario:

Not sure if reference 'Green with Evil' arc, or the fact that Frank never misses an opportunity to diss St.John publicly.

So I somehow remembered the other day that I had a few sega's and an NES in my grannies house and since I only got into collecting recently enough I gave them a call and asked my grandad would he mind having a look in the attic and he said sure no problem. So I get excited as a little girl at the prospect of finding all my old games, I had so many Rpg's from a massive lot my dad bought me that I never played as a kid. I definitely recall a few megaman games and I had so many sonic games on the sega that Im itching to play.

Anyway he calls me back and says this is all he found.- https://us.v-cdn.net/6034073/uploads/attachments/515526/314879.jpg

They gave the lot of it away to my cousins. Ive never hated my cousins more in my life. Damn

Picked this up in Argos for €7. More a tech demo really, but again at those prices I'll buy. This would have been a €45 launch title...madness.

More to the Evil Green Ranger eps as opposed to real life drama.

Or y'know... cus it looks cool. :-)

Picked up just one more in Tesco today.
Transformers Cybertron Adventures for the Wii, not supposed to be awful, solid little game and worth the 5 euro and the energy to dig through the games piled up behind the regular game shelf.

Actual, it is an awful, not solid little game and it is not worth €5.

Smyths in Blanchardstown have the whole set, Yoshi, Peach, Luigi and Mario, they are full price though, €44.99 a piece, so there's the guts of the price of a WiiU right there for a set of controllers!
    But they are wonderful....

How does Mad Dog Mcree play on the CD-I?

Looks like one of the better games there.

I noticed you pulled a Steve SI with the few games to the right of the pic! :)

I assume its a ball of crap like all the rest :)

But for £1 each I couldn't resist. Will sell off the dups later on - don't all rush as once.

Also picked up a GCW Zero console today but need to play around with it for a while before posting further on it.

It's pretty much broken. Every tie you take a shot the ame pauses for 10 seconds to load the next animation. It's not even playable. The later laser disc conversions are a lot better.

A complete collection you say, I hope you have a strong stomach ;)

Joking aside, it's a nice collection to go for. Nothings crazy expensive unless you start going for stuff like pal Majora's adventure set, Link to the Past also has a big box with a guide that was only released in Scandanavia.

Which would be the best port of Mad Dog to pick up on consoles?

The PS3 version looks very responsive here, a lot more instant than the Wii version...

Might have to pick up a PlayStation move for it!

A few weeks back I bought Resident Evil 2 complete for PS1 on adverts for a discounted price as Disc 1 - Leon was missing.

Recently I spotted boards user SnakePlissken selling disc only games for the PS1 in this advert which included Resident Evil 2.

So I chanced my arm and asked him if he would sell the Leon disc separately and he very kindly offered to send it for the price of postage as he knows I'm a retro guy!

This evening I got a little worried as I still didn't receive the PayPal invoice from him, and an hour later when I arrived home I was surprised to find this greeting me in the letterbox......

    314978.jpg

Not the one disc I needed but both discs, and sent completely free of charge!

I am absolutely delighted with his generosity, and feel like I owe him big time, I always find it difficult to accept gifts from people! :)

So if you're ever dealing SnakePlissken, please consider offering him a special A&R discount as he is one of the. Good guys! :)

I know I will be for sure!

And btw, I now have a spare disc 2 / Claire for Resident Evil 2 that I can post for free to someone to pass on the kindness.

I'm pretty sure you need disc 1 / Leon to be able to access disc 2 Claire.

So I would prefer to send it to someone who's missing Disc 2, but I guess the chances of that are slim.

Could just send it to someone who hasn't the game, and who could pick up Disc 1 cheap on eBay.

Add another 10 years onto that and you've just about got it! ;)

    It came out in 1990.

I remember seeing it in the Savoy in Cork around 1992~1994 and was amazed, it was REAL!
They also had the Space shooting game also release by the same company.

Even though the Arcade in the Savoy was shortlived, it may possibly have been the best Arcade in Ireland, I remember the place being huge!

You bought a card with a metallic strip and you could play unlimited games with it for an hour or 2, maybe this was the reason it was never profitable. :p

Kevin2me can probably remember the place better as I was only a child.

I should really dig up some information on that Arcade, it was epic.

Ah no I wouldn't be going down that road of special editions & regional extras etc. Simply every Zelda game (except the CD-i muck, that's non canon imo) released, all boxed etc.

Picked these up on Amazon.co.uk for decent money (love that super saver delivery). Question, Resi Revelations Wii U seems dare I say it, uncommon, at this stage...I heard on the Ninty forum it may be a low enough print run or something? Also, I've yet to play Journey...so that will soon right a very old wrong!

    I'm so conflicted Steve!
On the one hand, regarding yet more Rise of the Robots, you should be dragged onto the street, beaten with sticks before having starving rabid ferrets stuffed into your pants.

On the other Return Fire is probably one of my favourite games of all time and it pains me that there are so many people who have never ever heard or played it.

How about I just have you killed but hold a really nice wake?
