Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wax - black or metallic?

I want to give the new car a good waxing. It's metallic black pearlescent (Skoda).

Am I better off using a wax for metallic paint or one specifically for black ? I'm thinking metallic but looking for advice.

    Thanks

    That's a polish, not a wax.

I've never used a wax specifically for a colour or type of paint, not sure if they exist.

    OP
    You have lots of options,
Do you plan on regularly waxing the car?

OP I've never heard of a wax specifically for black. If there was a good one on the market, I'd have tried it as I've a black Skoda at home.

Are you looking for a "once off" solution or are you up for regular application? How much prep work are you willing to do as prep work is the key to get the best "pop" from the wax/sealant.

I will be buying turtle wax as I have used it in the past many times and got very good results. It comes in metallic or black version, hence my confusion as I've not used it on a black metallic car before. Woodies sell it.

I've no issue spending a few hours and some effort. I usually try to give a good wax and bring the car up to new showroom look or better at least twice per year. Apart from that it gets the usual washes etc.

Probably make life easier for you to use something like C2V3.

C2V3 all the way. Shine lasts longer than any other product

C2V3 but if you wanted a wax I'd go with Soft99

Thanks :D I think that shine is an accumulation of weekly washes done properly for the two months i've owned it.

    Hi

I’ve tried a couple of different waxes in my car, mineral grey ... I’d recommend Bilt Hamber hydra wax , really deep gloss shine afterwards that lasts
