Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Price register lacking info

    Im in buying process at the moment.

    When researching houses before putting in an offer I am seeing some entries on the property price register listed without the full address, e.g. only the town, county.

    How is this possible?, could it be a deliberate attempt to cover up recent sale at low price.

    Also bare in mind, a lot of prices registered are ex VAT, so appear to have sold for less than they actually did.

    It will become more useful when the eircode is mandatorily included. Use of “rd” I steam of “road”, “Ave”, “st” etc, use of irish names. All allow a degree of obfuscation although it unclear who this serves! Sometimes I think a lot of it is incompetence rather than mendacity.

    Does anyone know of a way to find pictures of properties that sold in last year.

    Daft and myhome as well as agents seem to be very quick to take down these days.

    Sometimes you can find deleted pages on websites, google is your friend.

    Yeah Ive been googling and sometimes finding bits. Was hoping there was a better way.

    Could be a good little project for someone. Scrape pictures from websites and dump them onto ones own database\website.

    There are ways of recovering old pages.

    It can take months for a new build to get a eircode, so that seems unlikely.

    We bought in 2015 and when it finally went up on the property price register, the address was so mangled that it's impossible for anyone other than ourselves to identify it as our house purchase! Totally managed by our solicitor, who did a great job all-in-all just never could get the address correct and it was the only reason the contracts needed to be amended from time to time.

    If we were the types to care about other people finding out how much we paid, which we're not, he did the best job possible ;)
