Bots watch the whole site. The 5x5 keys used by Microsoft are easy for them to identify. If people want to post keys for other humans to get they could obscure them a bit like:

The app doesn’t notify you when it’s giving out those free gig tickets ya have to be really quick so it’s nice to share that info

Get a sim and top up 5er every so often and/or ring your own number to use it up/keep line alive

Then install app and log in with that number etc

This carry on started with argos years ago....folk reserving stuff they didn't want and offering it then.

Can these people not put selfies on insta for hearts from their virtual friends instead of looking for thanks from virtual strangers here.

There's a bit of a difference here, even if you can't see it.
Argos codes aren't worth anything monetarily.
The xbox ones are worth close to €20 , if you get the free month for recurring payments!

Open a "live chat" with Support on Three's website, they can retrieve the code which was allocated to you. Takes maybe 10/15 minutes...

I've had to do it twice for different offers - you'd have to call it a design flaw in the app: if your screen times out and locks the phone, when you unlock the phone your code has disappeared.
